2006 LA Auto Show
My friend and I went to the LA Auto show its not the best, but it was ok.. this time He only took pics of cars that were on the main floor ran out of time to head to the bottom area where all the "custom" cars and hot chicks were
this took him a long time to do since there were 400+ pictures, it amounted to 900MB so he used the windows resize too to resize all pics to 1800x1200.. so the quality is not going to be as good as the original, but its good enough..
lastly.. the two companies which amazed me the most... *drum roll*
Audi and VW.. excellent cars, excellent display..
of ALL the cars there GM was yet another GREAT dissapointment..
first lets start with the Caddilac.. the CTS, the car on the showroom was going for $51,000. i don't understand how plastic and ugly fitting interior design with small parts that will either fade or break in less than a year can cost so much.. i've seen suzuki and hyundai cars built better.
the Escalade.. its not ugly, but before it used to be a man's car, now its just a girly house wife's car.
Buick:
if they don't start selling that new lucerne.. i think they'll be history like oldsmobile.. and unfortunately, it is an ugly expensive car. good luck.
Pontiac:
now, this i liked a lot! because the best thing going for them right now is the solctise (sp?) and they also had the GXP model on display and it was gathering a big crowd. i like the way the car looks and especially the price.
the rest of the GM owned cars were pretty much a mixture of crap and more crap.. even on their "high end" models such as the Impala SS, SSR, SS, HHR.. it just doesn't have the feeling the older chevy's used to have.. it feels incomplete
i tried to like them, i really did, but nothing.. pretty much everyone looking at the cars were not impressed, if anything i only liked the new tahoe, i think its the only model they've actually put any effort into.
the rest just look like they were sketched and mass produced an hour later.
For the asian cars, they were all boring.. no one had anything new, except maybe mitsubishi with their concept, but its a bit boring.. and that concept is just going to be the next years model for the eclipse.
As usual the WRX is always fun to gawk at for hours on end just sit in the drivers seat and day dream.
but ya, the rest were just boring.. Nissan, Toyota, and Honda should have never bothered attending.. they had NOTHING to show... well ok, except toyota with the Yaris and FJC, but who cares?
i think i've typed enough..
enjoy the pics..

Personally I think the RS4 was the highlight. Damn, that car was sexy. But my favorite part of the show was down at the Kenita hall. I bought a shirt that said "I <3 my honda" except honda was crossed out and it said Nissan on top of it

Big Willow Jan. 18
It's that time again. Take off humpday, and run the big track at Willow Springs with Open Track Racing on Wed. Jan. 18. 3 run groups with 5 half-hour sessions each, maybe an open session in the afternoon (one time they opened up the track to everbody at 2:30). You also get an all-you-can-eat lunch and an OTR t-shirt, all for $145 (or $150 if you use PayPal). go to www.opentrackracing.com to sign up.
Hope to see lots of 350Zs out there
