Default SoCal....hookup on tint shops

Does anyone have a hookup on tint ( OC / LA ) I've decided to tint my Lemans after debating for so long. I got a good price on some Johnson Film with lifetime warranty but he did not convince me he has worked on a Z. He was telling me he has to take apart the door panel and that is what scared me off. The aluminum cover on the passenger side is very delicate and if removed improperly it will damage and must be replaced. So I need a shop that has worked on Z's and can do this. Please post some info and how much did they charge and also any warranty info.....Thanks

Hey Ed, just to let you know incase you didnt know already. Usually after you tint your car, you shouldn't lower the windows for the next 48-72 hours. Just a heads up incase you plan on having it before the meet! by the way, there's a LS at work with 20% windows, and it looks SICK!!!

Yeah, I'd like to install my door speakers too but like you, I dont want to end up with damaged door panels in the process. So in the meantime, my speakers sit in my closet...collecting dust. I also want to tint my Z with a 35% all around. I am still paranoid about the cops though. I got pulled over by an LAX motorcycle cop in my old car that was tinted with 20% all around. Crazy thing was he was already in the middle of giving someone else a ticket.. saw me drive past, stopped everything and jumped back on his bike and pulled me over!!! I ended up having to pay $366 because of me not getting the notifications and I had to go downtown (since it was LAPD) to resolve everything. Still had to pay big bucks though, but it could've been avoided. The lesson I learned, motorcycle cops at LAX are insane, roll your windows down if you have them tinted and pray to God that they don't notice your front plate is missing.

oh yeah i remember reading about that one. My bro is a police officer too back in IL. I went on a ridealong with one of his coworkers a few years back and that was pretty cool! Oh yeah, my memory came back to me about the whole ticket issue. I was given XX amount of time to remove the tint and get it signed off by any officer. So I took the tint off and got it signed by hermosa beach PD. I mailed it in the same day. Didn't make a copy. BIG MISTAKE. LA Court or whatever it is kept sending me notices that they never got it. Except since I just moved there, my mailman didn't recognize my name and I never got ANY of my mail during that time period. When I finally got my mail cleared up, I got the 3rd and final notice saying that my claim has been sent to the collection agency and that I'd have to pay up no matter what.

I went there, as well as sent about half a dozen of my close buddies there as well. Ranging from graphite to titanium tint....none of the cars have any problems.

They're also extremely familiar with the 350z.

The actual owner is a standup guy.
