I'm sure Lebron has the potential to set these types of records in the future...but as of right now, Kobe is king!

usually the awards are announced during the conference finals........

i even said the nash made his teammates better and prolly will win the mvp but I want kobe to win. Hey but you can argue that Kobe made his teammates better too. maybe not directly but indirectly......here's my arguement

Smush Parker was a journeyman role player. he flourished this year under phil and maybe kobe drawing double teams and getting the better defensive guard guarding him opened smush up.

Luke Walton......we saw a little bit of how solid he can be but this is the first year he was consistant.

Lamar......he came along real nicely in the 2nd half.

Kwame Brown.....he became a consistant 10 and 10 guy during the final 25 games or so.

maybe its a bit of a stretch but Kobe has made his teammates better too.

Agreed. People need to remember too that all these new guys: Smush, Lamar, Kwame, pretty much everyone aside from Kobe had to take some time to get familiarized with the triangle...

Damn that was an awesome game! Especially when Kobe got fouled on the dunk by Nash on the Odom rebound!

99-93! Nash was awesome, but his focus on scoring threw off his team. Tim Thomas was becoming a threat, but without Nash's help he couldn't do quite as well. Raja Bell was pretty much the Suns' sacrifice by taking all the fouls.

Luke and Kobe were all over the rebounds!! We had genuine contribution, too, frome Kwame and Sasha, above what they usually do. That great recovery by Lamar, and on-the-spot pass to Kobe for the dunk, was nothing short of brilliant!

Watch for the Suns to try adapting now, though. They assumed things were mostly going to be the same because they knew the Lakers were going for the same game plan; but the Lakers were just that much more determined this time.

Yeah, what a win baby. How'd you guys like that dunk...Kobe posterized Nash man. All I heard in my head when I saw that dunk was the ESPN Sportscenter theme, haha.

Seriously, this was a great game though. Defense last night was excellent. Lamar really shutdown Marion, and although Nash did well offensively, I believe he had something like 6 turnovers...which is what we need to continue to do.

The Lakers are playing excellent team basketball, and of course Kobe is the closer. If we keep this up, we eliminate Phoenix...

Maybe then the Suns fans will stop cheering "Kobe sucks."
