LACR = Launch pad sucks, altitude sucks (close to 3,000 feet), when it is hot it sucks, but I like the strip after you leave the pad.

California Speedway = Under new contruction and won't be ready till April. The launch pad should be better, altitude is about 1,100 feet, when it is hot it sucks, the strip should be better than the old one, the new strip will go east which will give you a tailwind advantage.

Irwindale Speedway = 1/8 mile track, one of the best preped track, altitude is closer to sealevel than CSW, this strip needs to be a 1/4 mile badly. Good part is, you will get close to your magazine times on the 1/8 mile.

Mopar Dragstrip = Due to open soon, altitude is 2,200 feet, should be a good track other than the altitude.

I'd suggest going to Irwindale (every thursday from 5 to 10)
It's only 1/8 mile but it's great for practice.

GIMPSTER:
we have pretty similar mods, we should test our cars against each other. I dont know why, but my car is just not dyno'ing anywhere near you or Sakred's horsepower... my car sucks, but i wanna see how i keep up. Let me know...

Do you can realy test a car in 1/8 mille?. I prefer the whole track so I don't only test my car but also my way to tune it. Why test only the engine and drive train when you can test it all around. Test your self to the limit.

the track is not to test your car, I couldn't care less about that....you test a car on a dyno; you race it and your opponent at the track.
The amount of people that give you lip about the big dyno numbers is amazing, but then you see them at the track and beat them everytime because they don't know how to drive....that's fun
I have taken down cars with 200 more whp simply because I know how to drive, sometimes it's just luck but it's a great thrill everytime.

1/8 is perfect to learn because there is nothing more difficult in drag racing than to launch. You won't have decent 1/4 mile times untill you learn how to launch and get decent 60' times.

Think about it, you shift 1, 2, 3, 4 in the 1/8 mile and maybe 5th in the the last 60' on the 1/4 mile....once you past the 1/8 it's all over and you just ride it out.
Don't get me wrong I prefer the 1/4 mile but 1/8 is lots of fun and the place to learn is Irwindale.
In addition if your car breaks out on you at 90mph it's a bit easier to tame than at 115 mph, trust me I just learned that lesson....

you wanna learn how to swim in a pool not in the ocean don't ya?

Just my humble opinion
