Radar detector once again saves us on Kanan!
We went for a crusie down Kanan to PCH today and there were many nice cars out as well as "crusiers".
There were two near the end of Kanan popping people as they came flying around that last long right to left sweeper.
Anyway...
We all have our little 2-way radios and I'm up front. Were doing about 78mph and then *bleep* *bleep* goes the detector with 4 bars. I shout "cops!" madly in to the radio and the smell of freshly incerated brake pad infuses the surrounding air.
About half a mile up ahead there he is on the left hand side.
We pass him and start back up. Now we're doing about 90mph when the detector blips again. First I think it might be an echo from the one behind us, but then it quickly jumps to 3 bars, and once again I yell in to the radio. Again, around the bend about a half mile up...he's hiding behind a huge bush!
Anyway, darn thing paid for itself yet again. Was a gorgeous day, had lunch at Gladstones as always, good times.

Bel RX65 Pro. Worked really well even in those canyons which tend to block the radar. It's saved me numerous times on the highway too.
Course like most it's crap for laser detection. It detects it when I get hit, heh. Oh well, that's what laser jammers are for anyways. The only *real* protection. Thankfully they don't use those on Kanan or Angeles Crest hardly.

Active laser jammers are illegal in California and Washington D.C.
They circumvented the FDA's control over laser devices to make them illegal (lasers being under FDA is how they are not illegal in all the other states).
They did this as California makes a TON off of traffic tickets and they didn't want to lose anymore high priced tickets from high speeders to them.
With a really good radar detector and quality laser jammer you can nearly get away with murder.
No wonder ChP long ago switched to nearly full time laser for most the highways.
