Empty parking lot to lay rubber on?
Anyone know a good LARGE parking lot near the LA area thats empty late nights where I can go put the handling to some drifting tests?
I've been consdering heading to willow springs soon and would like to get to know the car better before I hit the track with other (and aggressive track-heads)

Every try the CSUN lot. Lassen and Lindley,
There is Sesnon @ Porter Ranch Drive. Ya know where the toys r us and best buy are? take that street all the way up til you get to the gated community and turn right. very light traffic especially late at night. You can try the k mart lot late at night. watch out for the light poles. they turn off the lights late at night. and then there is the lot that has a gate around it across the street from the mall. I think it's the teledyne lot and i think they leave the gates open. That lot isn't very well taken care of though. lots of weeds and cracks and stuff, but it's empty.
The winnetka theater lot I think is closed now. they only open it on larger nights. plus that have security. If you go, let me know. I'll bring out my beater car and have some fun sliding around in that. Or, if you wanna do canyon runs, i'm down.

I've been thinking about this - are there any docks down @ port of LB or LA that might be open late at night, or that you could palm $10 to a security guard to let you play around for a while out in their lot? I mean, out there you should have decent conditions, as well as low numbers of obstacles, as well as decent lighting usually as well.
If you find one, lemme know, I'll come with you!

Inline6 is my video editing company, we do promotional videos (commercials), media-cover events, do photography, etc etc.
Believe me, if we were running the 350Z photo ads, it'd get alot more recognition. (personally, I'm not liking alot of the photo ads they're using for the 350Z, usually because all that you see of the car is the rear end...)
We currently don't have any clients, and just do Z-promo videos. Right now, we've only got promo's done for the 280ZX, simply cos that's the only car we feel is worth making a commercial about (that we have access to
... 350Z's... hinthint)
Anyway, I figure that's a pretty long answer to the question of what Inline6 does, so onto the other questions:
As for the correlation w/the docks and the porter ranch dude:
there is none, i just mentioned the porter ranch thing and then my friggin family's screamin at me to get out the door or else i wouldn't get to go to dinner, so i had to hurry up and just punch in what i could.
If you're at porter ranch and the blue celica's there, feel free to smack the arrogant bugger down, cos I'm never in the valley to do it myself.
The Long Beach Docks (Los Angeles Harbor, Port of Los Angeles)
Me, personally, I am very very familiar with Long Beach, especially the Los Angeles Harbor area. There are MANY, many areas down in the LA Harbor for laying rubber and f*ckin around, etc etc, and roads are very very wide because trucks need lots of room. The actual best time to mess around down there is late afternoon, when the trucks are still stuck in rush hr traffic, and to get the best areas, you have to go pretty deep into it. Sometimes it's downright creepy because it's so eerily deserted.
LA Harbor (Long Beach) is not to heavily patrolled either, particularly because there is almost ZERO non-worker traffic. The problem with it is that it is busy in the dead of night, however, busy for that area is 2-3 trucks every 10 minutes or so. Do some recon on the area, msg me on aim anytime before weds night, and i'll be happy to take you down there late night and show you and your Z some good spots. Oh, and don't forget to get an FRS (shortrange civilian radios, 2miles radius, usually 22 channels. cost: $9 - $50 dollars) if you don't already have one.
Peace.

I don't have a z though, but would really wanna see some action.
hey L28 have you seen the thread over at 350zmotoring.com
they are doing this huge video shoot on the east cost with Z's one guy is heading up the pack. I suggested doing on in LA, like in Downtown LA, but there wasn't much response on that forum.
Go check it out. i'm sure it will interest you.
