Default Where's a good place to get my tires mounted in OC?

Hey guys.. well, my tires arrived today from UPS so i took them over to the friendly neighborhood americas tire co in artesia... i put my name on the waiting list, and the cool guy behind the counter announces that justin timberlake is up next to be helped... wtf? anyway, after the staff has a good laugh, i ask him how much it would be to mount the tires i brought in on my new work wheels.. he tells me it's gonna cost 150 dollars... already a little annoyed at the justin timberlake comment, i question why it would be so high (since i was told before that they charge $11 per rim to mount and balance). anyway, he says it's cause the rims are so fragile and it's gonna take over an hour to do all 4... i don't really trust him to do the job after saying that, so i just left

anyway, my question is... was the $150 quote reasonable? anyone know a reliable shop in OC or in the southern la county where i can get my tires mounted on my new rims? preferably less than 150

thanks!
justin

Shoreline motoring in HB deals with high end wheels. I think it's 30 per wheel for mouting and balancing. Tim is cool and will take care of you.

If you don't mind driving a bit, go to TWS (The Wheel Supply) in Pomona. Talk to Sander and tell him that I sent you.

yah there's a bunch in OC..like in costa mesa/santa ana off harbor blvd..
rodriguez tires, hernandez tires, garcia tires, etc. i'm not joking either those are the names of the shops lol.

i remember when i had my gsr, i bought cheap tires from rodriguez tires. i asked how much per tire he said 75. then i asked how much mounted and installed, he was like mumbling 75...75..75..75...300 dollar. LOL they didn't even charge for mounting lmao

i don't think they scratched my rims, but they did forget to give me back my blitz chromies. oh well. my fault for not checking.

hiro's in costa mesa,
I forgot how much he charges, maybe 15-20 each?

he does a lot of alignment (especially for those with slammed rides and need non-factory spec alignments), so it could take a while for him to mount tires (don't expect him to finish it in 30 mins)

ding ding ding- sounds like we got a winner. cool man, thanks. exactly the kind of shop i'm looking for...one with experience with slammed rides.

honestly i don't care if homeboy takes 2 hours to mount tires LOL i'd rather wait that long then wait only 20 minutes to find scratches on expensive *** rims.

don't flame, this is for my girl's 350z....she got 20's LOL

quotes around costa mesa/hb with valvestems:

Shoreline Motoring quoted 106

just tires quoted 160

discount tire center 91

grand prix 140

They guy who answered the phone at Shoreline Motoring was extremely knowledgeable about a lot of different details, and at first i thought his quote was expensive. turns out it was very competitive, and i guess they have the machines that don't touch your rim when it mounts the tire or something like that. he even told me the brand of the machinery, even though i forgot i'm really impressed, and i'd rather spend the extra 15 bucks to go with shoreline. they only sell rims that go on cars which are worth more than half my life, lol...so i'm going with them since i know the rims won't be scratched.

just thought i'd inform anyone in case they lived in my area.
