I'm curious to see how hard it is to install just the EDFC. Tein gave me their Flex setup after some testing they did, and now I want to add on the controller.

Send a PM to protocav. He did mine and many many others' coilover installations on both 350Z and G35s for half the price of any shop I got quotes from. I wouldn't go anyplace else for an install. He is down in SD, but it's honestly worth the drive on a job like this, to get it done quickly and with quality. Best of all you save some $$$.

I'm guessing the install of just the EDFC on my Flex is about the same as installing the coilovers and EDFC at the same time since you gotta remove them to get the EDFC under there. huh?

The edfc cost more cause of the wiring, I think you have to take apart the interior. So thats why its a little more expensive than just installing the suspension.

Yes, the EDFC costs a little bit more than installing just the coilvers them selves.

And yes, paying to have the EDFC installed later will cost more than doing it at the same time as the coilovers.

I've done about a dozen of these installs, there's no real step by step instructions. I guess someone could make one, but it would be really long, theres so many steps, lol.

Yes, it would be better to install everything the first time. Also, you either need to drill holes in the rear brace area or cut the edfc wires to get the edfc motors installed.

Protocav did my coilovers for steal ... but I was doing A-Arms, toe bolts, camber arms, a plenum, intake, and some other misc. goodies too.

His price list for coilovers w/ edfc says $200. He's pretty non-negotiable on price unless you got tons of other work too ... but still ... at $200 I was racing there to get it done!

Good luck,
Jim

^ Definately. $200 for installation of coilovers and EDFC is a steal. I cannot do it for that low. The installation will take nearly an entire work day. I have too many other cars I would rather do than put in that much work for only $200.

Sure. Send a PM to memeber Protocav, tell him Jim recommended you. I know he is busy lately, but he mangaged to squeeze me in when I was in a hurry to return my car back to stock to trade it in. He worked overnight for me, literally.

You probably have too much negative camber in the rear. Get an alignment and get the rear camber closer to stock and you will gain some clearance between the wheel and the damper.
