Default Aftermarket Mods & Install List

Hey All-
With an increasing number of aftermarket parts becoming available for our Z's, I figure that this is a good way to get an idea of who has what particular modification(s), in addition to the place of installation (if it was professionally done) in SoCal. Please post a review of the installer/installation and any contact info if the establishment is recommended. Feel free to chime in on the mod(s) as well.

Thanks-

Justin

I got Tint & Superwhite parking lights done at:

Magic Car Stereo & Alarm
Cherry Ave in Signal Hill

Paid $135 out the door for excellent, very fast work, and good customer service. I plan to go back to get some audio stuff installed.

Nope. Honestly, I get the feeling these guys are willing to do just about anything you are willing to pay for (hmmm ) - and its pretty cheap labor rates. I mean, I got mine done within 1 1/2 hours. I'm sure if you wanted it to go below the doors they would accomidate you - it'd probably take a little more time and I'd guess they'd probably charge like 20-40 more. But really they got pretty deep under the rubber part - when I pull the rubber edging back I still can't see where it ends.

They aren't a top end shop. I get the feeling they were just a bunch of buddies who one day decided to open up an audio shop. But the rates are good, and they're totally friendly. FYI - I used to work in car audio for a few shops, so I have a pretty good idea if an installer knows what he's talking about, or if a salesman is pulling your chain or ripping you off. These guys seem pretty on the level.

I had the tires done at a tire shop that proto goes through. 30 bucks to mount and balance all four.

The pulley kits are generally lighter than stock and weight reduced off the crank means a little more HP.

Pulley kits make a lot more gains on FI equipped engines. I'm guessing we'll see anywhere from 8-10 hp.

Its small gain for a high price, but tuning a NA motor is all about the synergy of minor tweaks until the FI kits come out and consume the air as well as our wallets.

The UR pulley is still awaiting release from the factory... I read somewhere we're looking at 2-3 more weeks. Looks like April is going to be a hot month.

See my signature below for mods.

Installed or will be installed at es technical roadsports in gardena. Installer is Tetsu...good guy...very knowledgeable and helpful. Has worked on all of my cars since '96. They were also the test/install facility for Tanabe on Killa Z's car.

Earl's did the install of the brake lines in their facility in long beach. Look for an engine oil cooler kit late this year or early next.

The Flex's should be in this week or next once the staff at tein performs some tweaks.

The exhaust should be in this week too. Will post pics.

Haven't heard anything about the G35 Coupe version. I would suspect that one would be developed as the G35 coupe is readily available in Japan and i am "assuming" development would be minimal in light of the minimal differences between the coupe and the Z though don't hold me to it. Most initial applications are for acura/honda.
