i think hes right. i dont know much about the z. but i had a friend that had an accord. he dropped it on eibach sportlines (2 inch drop) for the accord. and blew his shocks in a few months. he didnt care, just drove on blown shocks. i dont think i blew my shocks yet with the tein stech and it was the first mod i did since i picked up the car in feb of 05.

As for your question, there is no need to get 'used' to anything. As soon as you get your rims put on with your stock ride height, you are going to HATE the look. If oyu can afford it, purchase the rims and springs at the same time and put them on at the same time.

It's not like you have to get used to a completely different car and it will look so much better. Hell, even putting a turbo on really didn't make me feel as if I had to relearn driving the Z.
yup that's the mike.
yeah, that's exactly the point i was arguing.. thanks!

grr.. but springs alone are so much cheaper than coilovers....
honestly coilovers were my first choice, mike kinda talked me out of it. but.. now i'm a little worried. i think i'd rather do coilovers... i do drive the car kinda hard.

i think coils are cheaper if you get springs AND shocks... well its not litterally cheaper, but the fact that you can adjust the height. id pay a little more and be able to have that function

I'm getting the hotchkis springs installed this weekend. The drop is about the same as the tein s, but I've been told that the quality of the hotchkis is higher.

Plus, if you order the hotchkis tvs kit, you get sway bars too and save sme money.

sorry for the misconfusion here. If you get the springs it's not like your shocks are ganna go BOOM!! and be gone. It's a damage over time thing....(anyone play wow? man i'm a nerd)

For quite awhile your car will be fine, but going one to two possibly three years, you will feel that your shocks aren't absorbing the way they should. This is because they were not built to handle the extra preasure that the springs will put on them and eventually they will start to leak their oil until they are completely dry and your ride will feel like a boat. lol

but i would say ALOT of this factors on how much you lower it. If you get springs that'll drop your car like an inch or less, you should be ok. But if you are talking about a 2 inch drop.... kiss your shocks good bye. lol

but hey nieri(did i spell that right? only know your name cause other people post it) like you said, if you drive hard, you might as well get coil overs.

just my opinion though and believe me i am no expert at suspension work. This is all just stuff that i've read from other people.

Saturday could end up being a busy day especially if I get the other TAs. Street Image + 2 dealerships. By the time I'm done driving around I'll have to go back in for another oil change.

I'm probably just going to roll in. Everytime i make an appointment, it doesn't really seem to actually reserve me a spot at a certain time. My car still just rolls in order of other cars ahead of it.

My car's dropped on Tanabe GF210 for about year and half now with about 20K miles.
1" front and 1.4" rear..these springs actually has softer rear and will get rid of the annoying freeway bouncing effect that stock suspension has.
Honest for you Naeiri, you don't need coilovers..yea it's NICE to have them..but bit too much money for what you want.

Naeiri, I'm going to have to agree with my Kevin, my sushi chef here. You don't need coilovers. You drive hard, but not track hard.
