Oh... one more thing about their tunes, they are good at getting every last bit of reliable HP out of it but that comes at a little cost. I've noticed and they warned me to stay away from Techroline (Chevron). I used it at the track once (luckily only half tank) and was detonating at high rpms about 10 minutes into the run. Filled it up with Arco/BP and had no more problems that day.

You mean techron? Techron actually cleans your combustion chamber. C5Z06 guys use concentrated techron to clean their electronic components in their fuel pump assemblies.

I haven't seen a shell or BP fuel additive sold in stores, only chevron techron concentrate. Almost all the top tier gas stations have some sort of cleaning agent in their gasoline.

Techron is the propper term, I was making fun of it. But really, no *ish, it runs horrible in tuned Z's. If you use it for daily driving you would never notice a difference. IIRC it ran better than my normal stuff up until it started pinging. The tuner at the shop suggested I stay away from it and sure enough it was a problem. I don't know what it is about the gas, but when I put it in, there was a problem and when I diluted it the problem was gone. I don't care about the why anymore.. I just don't take chances on it at the track anymore.

I thought he was talking about gasoline at the pump not additives. I think BP offers cleaning detergents at every grade anyways. I might be wrong though. If I don't use BP I usually run Shell V-power. I love the 93 they sell on the east coast.

Chevron uses Techron in ther gasoline along with other additives. Chevron Super unleaded gas will ping in my car under high loads. Arco/BP gas with its additives will not. Shell also works fine, only problem fuel for me is Chevron.

No its not the death of your car if your not pushing it all the time. Also note, my car has increased compression among other things.

To me, its like their 91 in not really 91.

Yes their dynos do read high. My HR has GTM resonated TP's, Motordyne XYZ and 3 inch single, and Nismo intakes. It made the numbers in my sig after the tune and 298 hp (don't remember the TQ) before the tune but with the mods. So yeah the numbers are very high but the gains from the tune were very good. I would recommend them to anyone.

Gains on the same dyno is what should be looked at and not at just the numbers. There's no need to put an emphasis on that since numbers are just numbers. A dyno before and after on the same machine is a tool to measure gains and that is it if you are looking for good tuning.

Agreed, and 18 HP from a tune is damned good

Also, peak gains are great, but people tend to overlook midrange gains which can be huge. The midrange really counts especially out of the hole and in most real world situations.

Church is pretty popular in the Honda scene. I know he's supposed to work wonders with Kpro. A buddy of mine had his boosted rsx tuned there. I had my both my twinscroll KA24DE-T 240sx (on greddy emanage blue) and GT35r s2000 (on AEM EMS) tuned at church's. I have nothing but good things to say about each time I went there. Shawn was very helpful and even cut me a huge break when I had to go back to get retuned (maxed out the fuel system on the 240 the first time and the clutch wouldn't hold past 400hp the second time). The tunes he wrote for me were amazing. When the 240 came in, it was on a trailer and barely ran. After a little bit of tweaking, church had it running like a dream. I wish I had still had a copy of the dyno sheets to post, but they got lost somewhere in the sands of time. If he tuned HKS FCON VPRO, I would have taken my boosted Z there. Last time I checked though, he didn't tune FCON.
