Tour the aircraft carrier USS Midway naval air muesum. It's located right downtown at the base of the Broadway Pier. Dine at Antony's Fish Grotto a block walk away.
But if you're budget only allows you to take your "woman" to the yWca for entertainment you might just want to go to Balboa park and feed the birds and homeless meth users.
The "W" always meant the Womens YMCA in my day.

I'm going to be there for my b-day next month as well. Other than watching my Browns most-likely get pummeled by the Chargers, I'm going to check out Coronado Island and Seaport Village (there an excellent fish market/restaurant there... i forget the name) during the day, and the Gaslamp Quarter in the evening.

The bar at the W I hear is pretty slick at night.
What does she like? There is a lot in walking distance
Contemporary Art Museum. The carrier was a good suggestion. Breakfast at 222 Cafe (The BEST Peanut butter and banana french toast!)
I'm just a dreamer -- Can't wait to live there some day!!
