Default damn california crappy gas

I have NEVER had detonation until I filled up with some shiatty 91 octane yesterday. I had to add VP100 octane to it today to try and help things out.

How many people in SoCal have been getting crappy gas lately?

Sorry, just want to vent a little.

I go to the same gas station that my car was tuned with 91 oct. I always splash in 4-6gal 100oct before i fill up.

I think that some stations aren't running 91, call me a conspiracy theorist but thats what im thinking. My car pings on Chevron fuel as well.

I am going to have to tend to agree with you. I dont think they are selling 91 @ some stations. I will have to add 100 octane everytime I fill up now. I should not detonate @ 10psi. ****** California

I think that a lot of gas station owners are putting lower octane gas in to charge more for cheaper gas and so far they have been getting away with it since no one has started an investigation. I have noticed the same effect you guys have.
Is there some kind of testing kit that let's you quickly analyze the octane rating of gasoline?

Man I know the feeling....Remember when they had 93oct gas,its only 2 points but it counts. Luckly I have 1 station here that sells 100oct for 4.95gal. I think that is pretty cheep.?

Every County government should have a weight and measures dept.

For San Diego, it is http://www.sdcounty.ca.gov/awm/violations.html

If some unethical gas staion owner is trying to bamboozle the public they they need to be investigated!

There's one by LACR that still has 92 or maybe it's just a sticker.

I'm sure the price is crazy! You'd think there would be a test strip or something simple. BTW, I'm no chemist.

I was wondering if Union 76 still sells high octane at some of it's stations since they have changed ownership. The one on Lakewood in Downey use to sell it but no longer does.
