Nearly four years ago, the country was shaken by the wake of Sept.11 Then came the "perceived threats" from the Middle East which magically tied Bin Laden to Saddam Hussien. Followed by the (illusionary) Weapons of Mass Destruction. Now that Saddam is out of the equation, does anyone care to guess why the US is still in Iraq?
"Vain" is a rather generous word for prescribing the media's coverage (or lack of) on the war in Iraq. At CNN.com, top US News include a rambling about "Mystery nugget crashes into N.J. house." Whatever happened to the war coverage? Was there finally peace in the middle east? I must assume that today was another peaceful day in Iraq, as always, no casualties reported.
Oh well, at least Federal officials were sent to invesitiage this "Mystery nugget" and said it was not from an aircraft. "There's some great interest in what we have here," said Lt. Robert Brightman. "It's rather unusual. I haven't seen anything like it in my career."
Now, that is tax money well spent!

The only thing you'll hear on the American news is failure. If no one died not news. If a Pentagon contractor didn't get inditied not news. Let a school graduate it's first female students in 35 year ... not news. Let a hosipital start treating women ... not news. Let women work ... not news. The nature of the propaganda will soon change - mark my words.

Now that the Dems have power, you will hear "positive" news in Iraq from teh media, even if nothing changes there.

The current police action going on is not a "war" against a known enemy or one specific threat --- its a supplemental role to Iraqi security forces defending their homeland against those who want to take power.
The "War on terror" is alive and well and will be for at least another 10-15 years I would imagine --- too many terrorist states left to see a quick victory over state sponsored terrorism
The war on terror is important and somehow many Americans have forgotten whats at stake .....maybe when a crazy islamic radical bombs their local church will they realize the importance of eradicating terrorism
Till then we will have people like you complaining about taking down a dictator who killed innocent people for more than 30 years simply because they would rather bury their heads in the sand
Terrorism and its cancer like spread is real --- doing nothing about it doesnt solve anything and the CLinton administration is proof of that
During his 8 year tenure the military was cut in half --- attacked by terrorists several times ---- saw many US buildings bomed in various countries with little recourse and even the freeing of Bin Laden himself when he had been captured
This cancer has been spreading and it took a successful attack on the twin towers for Americans to wake up and see these crazy *** guys are for real --- they want our way of life dead .... not just us dead but our whole way of life
You cant reason or negotiate with crazy people bent on one thing --- you kill them and help those who want to be like us and the rest of the free countries of the world
Its not easy and it will take a long time but if you care about the future of your children and their children then youll do something about it NOW when we have a fighting chance at establishing freedom in places where they have generations of people who have never tasted it
I served for 6 years and I cant tell you how frustrating it is to hear politicians talk about sacrifice and in the same breath say "pull out of Iraq" ---- our men and women have dies there to bring freedom and peace to those people and now all they can talk about is the money it might cost......can money bring back the thousands of innocent women and children killed on 9/11? Do you want another 9/11?
We are there NOW....what we do NOW will matter for decades to come and it makes no sense to give up against a rag tag band of cowards when we have trained men and women WILLING and ABLE to put a bullet in their heads and send them to hell
