I'm looking to do my oil change. What's the cheapest place to get it? I'm in the Pasadena/San Gabriel Area. Looing for synthetic (mobil 1, motul), etc. And oil filters, thanks!
Well --Here in Texas ---and it was for the longest time ----22.00 and I think 24.00 for the extended Milage M-1 ---Which there is no sense to get--Thats what it was ---I have an empty continer on my Kitchen table right now
I went to Walmart in Monrovia, CA. Cost was $23.xx for one (5qt) container of Mobil 1. But they didn't have any Mobil 1 oil filters..wil have to go autozone or something.
Autozone had Mobil 1 filters...10.99! I didn't get one because it didn't come with that copper washer. Is it necessary to have it or can you go without it? Or can you reuse the old one?
kragen had penzoil platinum synthetic for $21 for a case of 6 quarts. rebate on it was $15 for the case, so each bottle came out to $0.99. six dollars to change all the oil to synthetic is not bad.

Ted
I found that deal too, but I've never heard of anyone using Pennzoil so I just got Mobil 1 instead. What are people's experiences with Pennzoil Platinum? And why the hell is it so cheap?

No reason to get overly cheap----I would spend more time and effort in comparing the pros and cons of M1 and Pennz than its worth ----M1 WORKS, This I know.--------Sometimes people are Penny wise and Dollar foolish
Mercedes Benz will run nearly 15k b/t services (including oil changes) using mobil 1, not penzoil platinum
I personally have used penzoil platinum several times....of course I can't tell a difference unless I send a sample for testing. But high grade name brand oil is a cheap way (relative to time) to keep an engine healthy.
