Paint is cracking and falling off???
Paint sucks on my front bumper, non OEM. Its cracked in the corners of the headlights, where tears wood come from if it could cry, and it wants to
. I am going to the Body Shop that did this work last summer, but I anticipate some BS about this being normal with Urethane and blah blah blah. If there was an accident I would understand, and then if they use flex it should flex and maybe spider but not crack and peel, and thats if you hit somthing. Thing here is nothing has been hit.
Anyway, anticipating the worst, I come here for a reccomendfation on a good SoCal Body Shop that will do excellent matching and a quality finish for a good price. Im in the 818 but will travel to the right shop.

It could be that an additive was not added to the pain to bond with your bumper properly. It could also be that the bumper was not fully dried when installing. Over time small corner chips become big flakes of removed paint. GL with the bodyshop.
Heres a pic, little blury but in person, it looks like a black crack in the paint, starting to curl up slightly. If I stick my finger nail under it, it will just peel away. I think the nex car wash or rain is gonna result in horror.
I agree with one of the above posts, looks like they forgot an additive. from experience, looks like it started with the primer they used to prep the kit.
one of my friends had the same problem. I took him to the shop that has done all my work and literally peeled most of the paint off! You could literally see the layers of paint wich included the primer.

maybe the urethane is flexing which causes it to crack.....the shop didnt use an adhesion promoter to the rubber....and didnt use flex additive to allow the part to move without cracking.....both are the shops fault and should be covered
Yeah, Im goun there in the morning. I stopped at a shop today to get their opinion before I start *****in. They said that if it was there work they would re do it no questions asked. They also mentioned that it didnt appear to be prepped properly nor did they use flex. The shop told me they used flex too cuz I was concerned about urethane....Hes all pitchin me on the benefits of urethane and flex and a heavy clear coat, I m pi$$ed cuz even if the re do it, I still have to pay for a rental car for like a week. Then what, 6 months later it happens again, this is scary. I wish myself luck and thank you guys 0for your help.
Beergoogles, its not Aerosync, its Karuma Z or Kayuma Z or something like that. Not perfect but good fittment compared to many others I have seen. I think the shop could a did a little more to fit around the headlights better. Atleast thats what the guy I saw today said. If they dont fix this and make it perfect, I will be back with a major ***** thread with their name all over it and close ups of all the little defects under the clearcoat that I never complained about but will be sure to point out tomorrow

Bodyshop tried to pull that with me once. I had paid about $600 extra for high-quality paint and "urethane additives." Then, when we were selecting a color they let me pick a paint that wasn't good quality and they didn't add the additives. When it started cracking and peeling I went back and asked them what was going on. They gave me a story about how I must have hit something. I heard the painter tell the manager "it must be X kind of paint if it is cracking." After he said that I just demanded them to fix it and refused to leave until they agreed to. We sat there in silence for a good 15-20 minutes and finally they agreed to take care of it.
