Where to buy a suit in LA?
I bought my first suit in college on a very limited budget for my upcoming job interviews. It was a pinstripe navy suit from I think Men's Warehouse. Now that I've been working for 3+ years, I want to have at least one nice, high quality suit that's not pinstripe.
Any suggestions on where to go?
I'm prepared to spend around $1G

Downtown L.A. is a hit or miss as I have found most are single stitch suits which tear easy but if you look around there is some good quailty suits in that area but hard to find

You can get really nice stuff at Roger Stuart's in downtown L.A. off of Los Angeles St. You'll find high-end stuff at least 30% off of what department stores charge. I would give them a try...

Nordstroms. Unmatched customer quality and good price. I bought my only suit there. Hugo Boss...I think it was $800 a few years back. You can bring it back whenever you want for fittings. THey'll customize to your size for free.

Downtown suits are normally low end Italian suits. Good for the price, but skimp a bit on the design. I've bought my share at Santee Suits in LA for $200-$400 with all the bells and whistles down to shoes (gave me blisters)!
If you want a nice designer original that is suited for YOUR body try a large department store like Nordstroms or Macy's (Beverly center). Both have a large suit section that will help you find a suit that is made for your needs.
You can also try Burlington Coat Factory in Del Amo. They have a section of high end suits like Hugo Boss and Armani for half the price of department stores. They also have a tailor on staff that will help you custom fit some if needed. Good luck!

Koreatown +1. Also, I've gotten a couple of suits from Burlington Coat Factory, no joke. No tears or anything and my first one has lasted me 4 years to date.
