It's a bit far for dirty and few others, but at least this way we could have a bit of a different crowd and see some new faces. Also, the OC guys have to drive pretty far usually, so it's only fair.

I don't know if I'll be in town for this but you guys should go to Honda Ya in Old Towne Tustin. [556 El Camino Real/Tustin (714) 832-0081] It's literally like walking into an old Japanese movie. It's an authentic Osaka style pub/restaurant with a hip young (bilingual) Japanese staff. The decor/interior looks nearly identical to some of the Japanese pubs you might see in those Kurosawa films from the early 60's with plenty of vintage wood. Quite surreal and very, very JDM. [I noticed that the bulk of the recommendations thus far have been for non-Japanese owned establishments which is generally a huge mistake if you appreciate authenticity.]
They specialize in Izakaya (pub grub or Japanese Tapas) and yakitori but they also have a full restaurant menu (nearly 200 items) with sushi and other standards (ramen, curry, combos, etc.). They have super fresh Kirin on tap, they're open until atleast 1:00AM and they usually have plenty of parking spots available.
It's been one of my secret OC spots for about 5 years but people are finally finding out about it due to sparkling recommendations in the OC Weekly, OC Register, chowhound.com, etc.
Good luck with the meet and have fun wherever ya all go.
