Are redlines normally hard to get?

I wanted a redline track or grand touring awhile back, but the search and wait ended up being a hassle, so I ended up with good old silver.

Oh for break in, did you do the 1200 miles or whatever it is or just get hard on it from the beginning.

Yeah, I don't normally follow the suggested break-in, but am usually pretty easy on things for the first 300-400 miles. Then from there I progressively get on it harder.
