Unexpected JOY
I was on the 405N just past the 405 / 710 interchange when traffic began to backup very quickly across all lanes. I got off one exit early at Wilmington Avenue, took surface streets to the DoubleTree Hotel, picked up my co-worker and got back on the 405 using the Carson Ave ramp heading north.
When I got to the top of the ramp, a completly empty 405 was in front of me!
Evidently the CHP had shut down the 405N between the Wilmington Avenue and Carson Ave ramps today around 3:00 PM.
It was MINE ALL MINE!! 5 completly empty lanes in front of and behind me with (I assumed) all the attention focused about a mile behind me.
I won't say I broke any laws but I will say I had some fun for the next few moments.
