Look at the ticket..what cvc section did he cite you for and check on the box next to it..does it say "correctable" or "not correctable" ? a correctable ticket is a fix-it ticket and it should only be a small admin fee (like $10.00 bucks) + you have to get it fix or have your cop bubby sign it off for you on the back. A non-correctable ticket would cost you $$.. The modified exhaust section covers mainly excessive noise and if you have a factory exhaust, it should not apply. cops would cite you for anything and sometimes for the wrong section. contest the ticket!

i had a 1jz swap in my sc300. there was no way i was going through the trouble of swapping in a stock motor and getting that "passed" so there was no way for me to get around that but to have them say i couldnt pass and i had to pay the fine. not cool.

so u're saying u got pulled over with a oem exhaust on??

if u put everything back to stock they will sign it off and all you pay is a $10 dollar court fee.

the no front plate 5200cvc is a fit it ticket. that should be checked "yes" . i dont know the section for modified exhaust off hand, but i can tell you that he shouldnt of cited you for that section. if you do go to court, tell the judge that the exhaust came from the factory (im guessing that you have a Nismo) and you have no idea why he cited you, and he/she would hopefully drop it. I can tell you that most exhaust (greddy, hks, invidia) companies comply with that vehicle code and that section does NOT apply.
ps..the boxes on the ticket should be checked. that ticket is incomplete
