Default (SOCAL) AT vs. MT

Is it worth buying an MT in L.A? Traffic is crazy on the 10 and 405, i am in the works of purchasing a Z and wanted to get some opinions on which i should go for. AT or MT? Thanks

MT is only fun, when you can actually drive it. Z will not be good for a daily in LA traffic (only as a weekend car). years of traffic-driving will pwnd you.

i currently have AT b/c of NY traffic which is the same or worse. i love it and beat up on manuals b/c many cant drive around here. although m/t is a bit quicker its not to noticeable and you will love it the same. btw i never drive it in auto mode only sport shift mode, so its fun too. good luck

After moving out of LA and moving down here I regret not having the MT, but for close to 4 years while in the greater LA area, I loved having my AT... It's a toss up...

Yea when I got my Mazda Protege 5 I got auto for traffic and the fact incase my moms needed to drive it she didn't know how to drive manual. I regreted it everyday. So when I was looking for the 350 it needed to be manual. Been happy since and always leave my car with a smile.

I drive on the 91 during rush hours both ways on both sides of the day and the traffic does get kinda bad but you get used to it for the most part and you have to think that there are days when you aren't in traffic and an MT would be best.

Iwould say go for the MT because the joy of driving one outweighs the traffic unless you plan on being stuck in traffic for hours on both ends of your commute.

Hit the 14, plenty of places for you to use 6th gear... But beware Palmcaster is in that direction

I got an auto for the traffic reason, but I completely regret it... I drive down the 91 (both sides) during rush hour everyday too and it is pretty bad, but auto just as fun as a manual... o well haha
