You will love La Mesa. It is my fav place in San Diego.

Johnny B's restaurant/bar is in downtown La Mesa on the corner of 4th and La Mesa Blvd. Check it out. Good food. A fun place to catch a Charger game and meet some new people.
While you are at Johnny's check out La Mesa Blvd. Really a nice little downtown area with shops, bars and more resturants.

Be sure to go to the Octoberfest on La Mesa Blvd. I think, it is the first weekend in October. The whole street is blocked off for days for the partiers and merchants. Parking can be a hassle not unless you don't mind walking a ways. The trolley will drop you off right on La Mesa Blvd.

La Mesa had a car show every Thursday night on La Mesa Blvd. Not sure if they still do it or not?

Family Chef Restuarant has good food and reasonable. Greek, American and Mexican food. Not fancy... but good.
Brigatine Restuarant, Anthony's Fish Grotto, The Fish Merchant (near San Carlos), The Golden Wok Chinese.

Grossmont Center is 'the' Mall in La Mesa.

Any car questions, mechanical or referals for anything Z or any car... I can always trust Rick at ZWhizz. ZWhizz isn't far from La Mesa. ZWhizz used to be in La Mesa and moved a few years ago and are now are on Ruffin Rd.

wtf? no offense, but you must not get out much. La Mesa is to San Diego what Fresno is to the state of CA. unless you tell me you live up on the hill.

to the OP, welcome to SoCal. find your way west, young man, and you'll be fine.

Thanks guys for the info.

After three days in here, I can say San Diego is a great place if not better than Seattle. I enjoy living here, but I kinda feel lonely out here. Still, there are a lot of things that I have to do.
