Does anyone hike in Angeles Crest?
So about 14 years ago my friends took me to a hiking spot in Angeles Crest called Monkey Canyons. It was a hike that ended with a waterfall that you could slide down and some nice cliff diving spots. I never knew how to get there and I always wanted to go back.
This week I was googling and I found somebodys picture's and directions to the spot. But, does anyone know if there would be water up there since it hasn't rained in forever? I was thinking about checking it out tomorrow but I don't know if there would be enough water to cliffdive.
Here are some pics of the place

That looks like a lot of fun. I'd go check it out with you tomorrow if I already didn't have too much going on. If you go, let us know if there's still water and we'll plan a trip.

most of the little waterfalls and rivers are dry by this time.. best time to go is in spring. it'd be worth a shot though.. set it up, there's definitely interest.

i love going to monkey canyon! i would say that the water would be low, maybe 50/50 on whether you would be able to jump. the only thing is cal trans blocked off the parking with dirt so you would have to find parking down the road.

So I went earlier to check it out. I need to mention that this is a semi-difficult hike. On the way towards the spot you hike through rocks and water. I was in running shoes because I am an idiot and I was slipping a bit. On the way back to the car you also have to hike up a steep hill. Anyways, on to the pictures (taken with a crappy point and shoot):
when you first start the hike you go down a steep hill
looking up
looking down
There are ropes to help through difficult parts (I don't know those girls so don't ask for noodz
The hike
don't forget to bring spray cans to tag your crew and hit up your homies, dawg
Be careful
the diving spot
you can also dive off this ledge that is only about 7 feet high
swimming area
and to get back up, someone put together this rope and ladder
Next weekend I am going to Mexico but any weekend after that I am free. Let me know who is interested in going and when you are available and we'll set up a day trip.

i can't believe how stupid people are to tag up a place like that.... i'm a big street/urban art supporter but taking it into nature like that is beyond disrespectful. damn.

I was thinking the same thing while I was there. You can tell that some people really try to take care of the spot by putting up ropes and signs. But other people leave their garbage, tag all over, and have no respect for the natural beauty. Bleh...
