im goin to be going to irvine tomorrow and i dont know the place very well. anyone know of anything going on or have suggestions on something to do?

 

Nothing, it's Irvine. Head out to Newport PCH area and you'll find people packed.

 

This place is as boring as it comes. Cooking cutter homes with large shopping centers, not much to recommend.... The Rectrum?...take a ride in the big orange balloon?

You could always go to Palace Park or whatever its called... go miniature golf. . . irvines boring... come out to Newport/ costa mesa area.

About the only place to go to that has shops and what not is the Spectrum (located betwee the 5/405 merger; you can't miss it). The Spectrum has shops, restaurants, bars, movie theater, dave and busters, and other...

Back on topic. Like another member said, try not to stand out too much. Irvine PD is notorious for pulling ppl over, example... I was one of the few that was pulled over for modified exhaust when still stock and another time for the varis duct for probably cause for engine modification (they were looking for turbos, s/c engine swap.) Popped my hood and checked everything.

 

I was at UCI yesterday...PSA: Hot chicks do not go to summer school...

Go play some golf or hit *****...
Specturm
South Coast Plasa (just outside Irvine)
Newport Beach or the Penn (10 min drive)

By "South" he means NORTH...

 

Actually it's West. I said South because I'm used to taking the 405 S to get to these locations from my Irvine home.

 

Is there another South Coast somewhere we don't know about? Unless there is one, you don't take 405 South if you're trying to get to South Coast Plaza from anywhere in Irvine. You have to take 405 North and get off Bristol, making a right at the exit, then South Coast is on the left side immediately after the exit.
And where did West come from..?

To the OP: You won't find fun in Irvine. Period. Spectrum's not bad if you enjoy walking around for no reason. As someone else mentioned, watch out for cops. I live in Irvine and get pulled over regularly. Many times right in front of my damn house. EVERY time I get pulled over, they ask how much I had to drink that night, rather than if I had any drinks that night. I think they enjoy profiling people.
One time, they pulled me over for having smoked out tail lights, right before I turned in my house. I had my signal on, ready to turn in! He made me pull over, ticketed me saying tail lights aren't bright enough, then popped my hood, giving me a referee ticket for having Injen CAI without a CARB sticker, then makes me sit on the curb while my neighbors freakin pass by looking at me like they should start watching out for me cuz I'm some criminal now.
Ok fine. So I had "modified" lights, legit reason. I'll try to understand that. Another time, another officer kindly pulled me over, asking how much I drank and saying I was speeding. I was NOT speeding but whatever. Then he makes me do a little test to see if I was drunk or not. After that, he asked me where I was going and I pointed across the street telling him I lived here. He then asks me to verify the damn street that I lived on.
Another time, a cop busts a U-turn from the other side as I'm getting near my place, follows me, then I turn into the community that I live in, and mother f*cker actually followed me in! I almost stopped my car and wanted to ask him "WTF did I do? You stalking me?" After a few yards, he just turned around and went out to go harass other innocent people.

I can go on and on about stupid cops pulling me over for no reason. When I mentioned that the cops in Irvine are harsh on people, one officer completely agreed me saying, "I know they're all as*holes. I work with them." also added "But I'm a nice cop." ............ What~the~f*ck~ever buddy! (That was the as*hole who gave me the ref ticket!)
Here's an advice. Stay AWAY from Irvine if your car looks "modified".
