I doubt we will have the same problem since Borla is now aware of the issue.

As for a couple a day installations, I'm not too surprised. An installation takes about an hour and I understand Brent is very busy with Audis and WRXs who also have group buys in the works.

Next time I have a chance to speak with Brent, I'll mention the same side part problem and make sure we don't have to deal with it.

That's what I'm not sure about. He indicated it was a couple hour job, and that he does mostly custom work... Maybe he likes working half days??? Anyway, maybe another call to him might be helpful.

You know with:
1. Set of metric sockets
2. Four stands
3. Good floor jack
4. Torque wrench

you can probably do the entire install yourself and save yourself money + get the satisfaction of putting it in. it looks like a bolt on project w/ no special tools required.

If you haven't already done so, please let Brent know directly. He may not be reviewing this thread.

Glad to hear you saved $5.00.

Compilation of Borla Information

I've been getting a lot of PMs. So, here's the link to the dynos from Borla for exhaust, headers and exhaust + headers:

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ght=borla+dyno

I believe it was 24 hp gain for exhaust here. Webcarconnection claims 24.5 WHP and 15.6 TQ gain but is without a chart. Borla conservatively says 20+ hp gain but I suspect it's closer to the 25 we've been seeing and hearing about.

Sound clips are here:

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=31977

It sounds good but I really need to hear in person.

As for the group buy, Brent said June 13, 2003 as the closing date. I understand that David wanted to get out 25 and we're over that already. I don't think he expected this kind of demand. But, seeing it's 10 months since release and no one has any significant engine modification yet, short of NO2, I'm not surprised demand is so high.

Regarding weight:

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=31885

Borla beat Stillen by 20 lbs, and stock by 6 lbs. Stillen has claimed a 13 hp gain but I have to date never seen a dyno for Stillen. Btw, Stillen has a negative rating with the BBB.

I'm sure more information will come in over the next 30 days but the above should provide you with enough information to make an educated decision.

Damn I'm tempted, but I'd really like to hear it in person first.

Default AN UPDATE on this group buy...

Spoke with Brent today at 12:35pm EST, and he told me 2 things.

1) They got the entire batch of them in, and he's going to go pick them up with several trucks today, and the rest probably tomorrow. So he expects to ship them out by early this week.

2) They will not have the "wrong pipe" problem. He's made sure of that.

Now the question is, ARE YOU READY?

Not sure on the number, but if it takes several trucks to transport them over, I'd say its over 25.
