Late August, cheap.

.: If Sugar goes to trial, we may need to postpone to September. And, we need to accomodate Spice and Mr. P.

I think this meet may have to potential to be the biggest 350Z meet ever since we'll have everyone from Sacramento to San Diego showing.

We need someone to volunteer to make accomodation arrangements. If No. Cal. is hosting, perhaps one of you can figure out where we're staying. Judging from initial responses, Reno may be the ticket but location remains open.

So, let's pin down a date, the location, accomodations and events. Please keep posting your suggestions and needs.

And, remember, cheap, cheap, cheap.

Here's some of my $0.02:

Reno or Bay Area would be cool with me. Either way I would probably be crashing out with friends or family so $$$ wouldn't be tight for me. Unfortunately in either case I don't think I could accomodate anyone else ... Sorry...

But, if we go to the Bay Area, the trick is to not stay in "The City" There are actually a number of great spots in Marin County (where I grew up), that you can stay on reasonable prices. Embassy Suites, Best Westerns, etc. End of August is also usually a beautiful time to visit. Also, Marin is a cool scene in and of itself, and if there are people that would be bringing their cars, I could show you pretty much the best roads in California (yes, much better than palomar, latigo canyon, etc.)... Oh, for those wondering, Marin County is the other side of the golden gate, so its a piece of cake to get there. Also, in terms of flying, $60 round trip from LBC to Oakland (smokin deal @ jetblue.com)...

Also downtown San Jose has recently redeveloped itself to become one of the best bar crawls on the west coast. Literally 2-3 bar/clubs per block, and downtown is like 6 blocks by 10 blocks. You do the math. There's lots to do, and the best part is that you can walk from place to place (and usually unless there's live music there's no cover). . .

Reno/Tahoe - Going up here I would suggest renting a houseboat. The ski resorts also often have great summer rates. But seriously a houseboat on Tahoe is great, there's tons of parties and you can rent jetski's to go around and meet other people that've rented other boats. Gamblers can go gamble, outdoorsy people can go, well, outdoors, etc. Also downtown south shore is pretty cool, some bars here & there. Reno is a short hop away.

Anyways, I'm down for late in august, but i may be in new york for a design conference in early/mid august, so we'll see. The only downside bout this whole trip is that it requires even more coordination than vegas, what with plane reservations, rental cars, finding a place to stay, etc.

Hope this gives people a better idea of some good trips. I mean, I grew up up there, so I know lots of the "underground" destinations. . .

Take care...

who said anything about flying...

We will drive up... It's a Z meet right?

I would love to fly... but we should drive...

And I do suggest staying out of SF... but I might be able to get a group deal on hotels in SF... but parking is an issue.

Yes I will drive this time around. It will be fun to see a mad group of Z's cruising up the grapevine!!!! Plus we can play on the freeway, unlike the vegas trip. And Dan may actually get to top out the Z.

Ok I'm not missing this one. But I need to know early what the dates are cause of my work schedule. Cisco or San Ho sounds good to me though I will be in Cisco for the next three weeks for work. Plus to help save on money I have enough hotel points that I can get free stays and any Hilton Hotel. Just have to figure how much spare points I have cause I don't want to dip into my free week in Hawaii points that I will be using near the end of the year.

I'm going to check though if I can get more than one room using my points but I don't think I can but I will check. Anyways, lets figure a date. I'm open any day in August except the 9th and 18th.

Regarding dates...I think it's safe to say that we will coordinate around Iris's schedule. And, regarding cost, I think it's safe to say that we will coordinate around whatever Butterfly wants.

Sometimes, it's nice to be a PPG.

Oh you guys gotta drive...the 5 in the valley was made for fast cars and fuzzbusters!

Tho I think it's good you guys are looking at the Reno/Tahoe thing more than the San Francisco thing. SF is a gorgeous city - but with absolutely no parking.

1. We gotta drive. With no holiday traffic and our radar detectors, I'll be able to beat my 124 mph.

2. I think August 23-24 should be fine for me. I can't see the trial going 3 weeks. Hopefully I'll know better tomorrow - we are having a big meeting.

3. We are not staying in SF. When I was there Memorial weekend, parking at the Hilton cost THIRTY DOLLARS A DAY. No joke.

Yeah any where is SF is a grip of money for parking, which is why when I have to work in the bay area I atually stay at a bed and breakfast in Pleasanton and if I have to go to the city I take the Bart

Where ever we go though if someone knows of a Hilton I can get at least one free room.

Okay, let us know. For now, August 23-24 is penciled in with a Friday, August 22 evening departure.

Reno is looking nicer as we keep talking about this. I could go for the cabin by the lake thing where there is plenty of outdoor parking surrounded by trees and fresh air. Plus, there are casinos and clubs out there.

Anyone know anything about renting a cabin in or around Reno that will accomodate 20-30 people?

Uhm, I'm thinking one cabin would not be enough for all the people we'd have.

Yeah.

Hehe, no showers and compost toilets. Maybe an Expedia search for a hotel would be better.

If anyone is bored at work, why don't you search us a place to crash?
