I've stayed at rented house and a cabin in Tahoe. The house was a two story, 4 bath, 4 bedroom with a huge balcony, and BBQ grill. The cabin was a two story five bedroom, five bath, with a huge living room, dining, and family room and an outdoor jacuzzi. The cabin could definitely hold 20 people. But 30 is pushing it. The cabin I know for sure was in Truckee, not sure on the house. I'll get more info, since I wasnt the one that booked the place. But between 20 people, it shouldn't cost too much. So I guess its looking like Reno/Tahoe. Is everyone cool with that?

I don't like SF cuz of potholes more than the lack of parking...
But if you guys go to Reno, wouldn't it be smarter to head to Reno from Socal than going up to SF and then going to Reno? It's a lot shorter if you head there straight from here. If you go to Lake Tahoe (which I MIGHT consider ditching my plans for ), I'm not exactly sure which way is shorter. I just remember that it's a long drive there and there's some interesting twisties going there from SF.

Lake Tahoe is nice too. But, dang it, I would want to go during the winter when we could get some slope time. I haven't gone skiing for two seasons now and I definitely want a ski trip this year.

Reno/Tahoe/SF, it's still all open for discussion. That cabin IR was talking about sounded really nice.

You're right B- quicker to drive directly to Reno from LA- We could all just meet there- or we could all meet in Sactown then head up the hill. You better make the trip man

Yeah, if we decide Reno/Tahoe, then the Socal peeps will just head straight there. So I guess its Tahoe so Mr.B can ditch his other obligations.

Okay, Tahoe so Mr. B has no excuse. Date is tight too, August 22-24. There are some cabin suggestions above. We can do the outdoors thing during the day and we can do the casino and nightlife thing in the evening.

I think we should shop for our food and for drinks to make meals cheap. I love breakfast in a cabin setting. Heck, might do some fishing. Now, if anyone isn't down with this let's go get a cabin in Tahoe thing, speak up. But, if you ask me, this sounds like an ideal August run where So. Cal. can meet No. Cal.

Who wants to volunteer to make tentative cabin arrangements?

Default Whoo fishing...

Yeah fishing sounds rad, but I think around Tahoe all you can do is fly fish for trout. If you end up doing SF, then you could get on a party boat and go for salmon, halibut, and striped bass.

Hehehe...I don't really care what we catch. It's all about the experience...you know, bonding with the boyz(and/or girls), sippin on some brew, and chillin like a villain. Isnt that what fishings all about?

Boating would be tight. I'll see if a co-worker will be home, She lives in Tahoe, and if I can borrow her boat. But she travels as much as I do so, so the chances of her being home isn't quite likely... but hey worth a shot. Anyone else know how to drive a boat? (and I do mean how to really drive a boat)

There is a mini booze cruise on the lake! Dinner and bar could serve as our banquet!

I am most likely out for this one.
Aside from the problem of getting time off from work (which was probably manageable actually), other things have come up, and I highly doubt I'll be able to make it. So I hope youse guys have fun.
