I think we are still trying to figure that out.

There was a suggestion for North Shore so that if we wanted to go gambling in Reno it would be close.

You might want to think "Reno" for a couple of reasons. Traffic will be heavy comming & going and the road to South Lake is two lane; north shore or Reno is I80 which is 4 lane. Also it looked like cost is an issue for some & Reno will have cheaper rooms.

Plus more entertainment in Reno if the group is the "party hardy" type.

You guys need to think about the traffic thing; I 80 up the hill on Friday is bumper to bumper; same for comming down on Sunday afternoon.

If I was driving the 400 miles up from SoCal to SF or Sacto., I would not want to then be looking at bumper to bumper up to Tahoe/Reno. You may want to drive to SF or Sacto. on Friday & stay over then drive up the hill on Saturday AM.....generally a clear shot. The NorCali guys could meet you Saturday AM at a predetermined spot & caravan up the hill. Another option would be to cut over to 395 & head north to Reno. I know zippo about the 395 drive.

If your driving back on Sunday you need to leave by noon or so to beat the weekend crowd. Once you get to Sacto. its a left turn on I 5 and clear sailing to SoCal. Or go back the 395 route.

What do other NorCali guys think?

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the event. But, I have a suggestion:

At the top of Harrahs (South Lake)....eat at the forest buffet for dinner.

Last time I was there, it was $25...we stayed for 3 hours and got our money's worth!

Barney! I love you, you love me... blah blah blah *throws tv at purple dinosaur...*

Yeah dude, the Forrest buffet is pretty darn good. For those thinking of going, it all depends on what you wanna do. Reno will be cheaper and you can get hotel rooms, etc etc, but the Lake's not there. So if you wanna do outdoorsy stuff, Reno's not exactly the place to be. A big *** cabin to stuff all of you guys in sounds like a lot of fun to me... but then again, I might not go. Just food for thought.

Dang I hate it when I travel cause I have so much reading to catch up on because of the fact I can't check the forums until I get back to work.
Anyways, sounds like there was a lot of things going on here last night. Ok so it's the 22-24th. If that's the case I'n not sure if I can go.
I'll be working in Petaluma that week and then the following week I'll be down in San Diego....
If I can get things straight at home and work I'll probably cruise with the SF peeps to Tahoe and then cruise back down with the Daygo peeps
Argh

Cazz, BF, Aloha, SizongZ and Bullish have problems with August 22-24, 2003. This date may be changed due to the large number of So. Cal. people with calendar conflict.

Dan... it's not that the specific date is a problem for me. During the months of August - Sept is when I will be taking the test. So no entire weekend activities for me.

& my boy Silverchrome is wit it also, I even got some girls wit Zs that are wit it, but not those dates. But we totally would understand if the dates would have to be that weekend, we would just have to try to be on the next one, or the one after that, or maybe even the Valentine's Day 2004 meet..
