Hi there,
Im trying to find out what people consider to be important when purchasing a set of harnesses/belts. Quality? Brand Name? Style/Design? Popularity?
Please be as specific and honest as possible.
What kind of harnesses/belts do you currently run? Why do you like them? Why do you dislike them?
Thanks! Your opinons are GREATLY appreciated!!

Im posting in SoCal because thats where we're going to try and release the belts first. Im trying to get some friends sponsored and they are located in SoCal as well. Most of the feedback Im trying to recieve is going to hopefully be from friends here cause I know theyll be the most honest.
Thanks though.
Thanks though.

those are the ones i like i meant or prefer....
i dont care for anything under 3"... though...
safety obviously is essential for me especially for those who track.... i would pay for quality belts because its your life on the line if you actually put them to good use....
iono choices of colors i guess would probably be sick....

I used to run the Sabelts in my old car and I loved those too. Takata's though with the pads are still my favorite though. Sparcos are ok but feel like more for daily driving not a 100+mph collision with a wall haha. But yea like Ben said safety is first. One of my friends (Ren) tried to sell me these harnesses he had made in China but I was like nah. They held me in well but I don't how well they would actually hold. Corbeau's were good too but they were like a cheaper version of its Italian counterpart Sabelt.

I agree with Ben, beb. If the quality and safety is there then color is really gonna be the only thing to consider. Price will probably play a factor though since its going to be a new brand on the market. People will need to be motivated to try them out.

Wow thanks guys!! These are the kind of responses I was looking for...
Just so you guys have a better understanding:
We are not new to the belt world. We are actually one of the oldest manufacturers...
Our belts use high quality American hardware and Polyester webbing instead of Nylon because it is 20% stronger.
Good point on locking... We are trying to come up with a new camlock but havent settled on a design yet. Suggestions are welcome!!
We are just trying to come up with a new belt that is more um.... import-friendly. We do have a SMALL niche in the import industry but majority of our customer has been based in Nascar and such.
Let me know if you have any questions... Till then, More opinions+suggestions!!

I think people choose belts by name. At the end of the day, if the belts are FIA approved then it all boils down on the bling factor.
And this is where Takatas and Williams come in.
Cause if I'm after pure safety, then the cheapest FIA approved will do.

I'd go for quality, brand name, certification....
On brand name alone, I'd go with Schroth which are common on Porsches and BMWs rather than takatas which are popular here.
Who do you work for?

I work for Simpson Racing.
Well basically whats going in is that they are making belts for me and if they come out well, we may market them.
More info will be available shortly... But we need your feedback because these will be marketed strictly to the 'import' scene....

Honestly, I think most people go for Takata mostly cuz of its "JDM yo" factor. If safety and reliability was trully the main factor, more people would be subject to try other brands.. kinda like most of the members of these forums only stick to Volk or Work.
I've been running Sparcos (which are made by Sabelt) since 2003. Reason I got them is 1. they match the seats, 2. they're FIA approved (although they have to be renewed/repurchased) 3. I like their simple camlock feature.
Dislike; 1. although the 3" is required for the track, it makes it less convinient for daily driving. Feel like I'm getting into a roller coaster everytime I bring the "H" down. 2. Limited colors (blk/blue/red)
