Hit a tire/rim on the freeway today :(
Man I was doing about 35-45 when out of no where a tire with rim smacked the front end of my car. Dead center of the hood and front bumper the hood needs to be replace it folded and dented bad. latch is almost off and the bumper looks to just have rubber marks that I hope will rub out.
Is it bad to drive with the hood off? cause I don't have cash to for a hood at the moment and insurance will ask for my deductible which is $1000
Might just have to garage the thing until cash comes in.

sucks bro. yea, I feel you on the "shop-til-u-drop wife" and the gas in the daily (suburban here). Put off the kids until after I have my fun with the toys. lol.
Find someone who has a hook up at a good body short or even talk to the body shop you choose and see what they can do for you on the deductible. Alot of body shops will give you a break on the deductible. Didn't pay a dime when I fcked up the surburban ($3500 worth of damage). Of course my deductible was only $500.

You should try calling Cal Trans or the city or something maybe they can reimburse you for the damages. Last year one of my friend's rim got bent on a pothole he complained to the city or someone else not exactly sure but after they looked into it they issued him a check for the damages. So, it can't hurt trying to find out if someone will cover the damages. Good luck.
