Ended up getting this. Less than 300 bucks. Gets the job done for what I need.

Where did you pick it up for under $300? I'm looking to get my younger brother a bike, and he doesn't have enough experience to justify a $1500 bike.

I just do it for light groceries, going to the mall and light activities within 5mile radius. I would get a professional grade if i'm gonna beat the heck out of it.

Sweet Thanks! I might pick-up one of these for him, and let him break this one before I spend them money and buy him a Specialized or GT or something.

He was looking at a Cannondale road bike last time we were out, so I'm not even sure if he wants a mountain bike.

1st article is 2 years old
2nd article is for trail bikes, OP was asking about mountain bikes
3rd article is for the top of the line bikes, bet this one costs at least 2k

^^trail bikes are just one of types of mountain bikes. there is downhill or DH, there is cross country, all terrain/all mountain, and there is FR.
