Default windshield questions

i have a huge spider crack in my front windshield. luckily my insurance is covering it minus a $100 detuctible.

my question is:
1. is there any point to get genuine nissan glass?

2. if so, where do i get it?

and 3...for those who have replaced their windsheilds...what did you do and where?

thanks in advance guys

genuine and "aftermarket" are practically the same minus the Nissan stamp/logo at the bottom corner.

You can get them ordered through any Nissan dealership

What is the price difference between the two?

Oh and if you have a $100 deductible, you might as well get OEM.

i can do both aftermarket and oem. i work with most major insurence companys also.

^safelite is actually known for being a big company but i cant say much about thier work

we do mobil service and we dont mind if you stand around and watch. we always check for any damage on the cars before we work on them, that way we let you know first, so we dont get blame for any of it.
and if we do, we let you know if we make any damages, and any clips/molding whatever gets broken, we will order them from the dealers and we will come to you to replace them, or if you want do them yourselfs. its not hard taking apart the necessary parts to replace the window..

doesnt really matter where you at, we travel around most of socal anyways. for a aftermaket glass i can do for $170.
oem i have to get back to you on that one but expect to see the price range from $600-800..
theres no difference between the aftermarket and oem glass. they all have to pass the same regulations before they are shipped out from the factory. only difference is the logo that is on the bottom corner of the glass.

is the safelite glass any better than oem? my oem glass didnt hold up to well. i've got thousands of little pits in the glass so when the sun hits it, i cant see ****...... and the cars not even 3 yrs old yet......

worst glass i've had on any car....

so any recommendations on glass that will hold up a little better?

they are all the same.. try to stay away from driving behind trucks or small bits a debre can cause lil dots on your windshield. i have the same problem on my glass too =\.
safelite uses aftermarket glass, and im not sure but i think they mostly deal with PPG glass. i know they have a auto glass shop next to PPG in OC..
