Default Any good or bad expericences with Universal City Nissan.....

service department.

I have been checking out everyones problems here, and am taking it in for service.

I have a DB Track with 2600 miles on it, and I am noticing the feathering and want to get the window streaks fixed as well as other things.

I was washing the car this weekend, and the front aero is missin g 2 screws that hold it in.

Thanks for the info.

If you aren't too far... I would recommend gardena nissan or POWER nissan in Torrance.

Don't mean to come across as being harsh...

But please make the title your threads (subject line) a bit more descriptive.

"Any goog or bad expericences with Universal"

can be titled

"Any good or bad experiences with Universal City Nissan?"

because I initially thought you were meaning

"Any goog or bad expericences with Universal Studios"

Just a thought, since you are new on the board. The Socal forum is not divided into Off Topic or Car Related... and we often times talk OFF TOPIC.

Changed the Title.

Why do you recommend them? Just your experience with them, or do you know of bad experiences with Universal?

Universal City Nissan is notorious for having bad service. A lot of BS from cheesy salesy people.

So I can take my Z to any Nissan Service center?

Any in Glendale that you would recommend or in the burbank/hollywood area?

My work schedule right now is 7 days a week. I would like some place close to Burbank, where people have had good experience.

Thanks for the info. I will not take it to UCN.

Do they give you a Z as a temp or some P.O.S?

What about weekends? I might have a window on the 23rd of this month?

Sorry for all the Questions.

Thanks for your responses.

Oh wow... okay, I can tell you are VERY new. Of course you can take your Z to any dealership for service! Oh, and they DO NOT give you a Z for a rental. This ain't no Mercedes. It IS a Nissan. They will usually NOT give you ANYTHING for replacement. If you have a warranty issue, you can usually get a rental if you can Nissan Consumer Affairs hotline. Complain your a$$ off, and they'll give you something. You can expect a POS. The 3 times I needed a rental, I got a Taurus, Jetta, and Sentra.

I know it sucks a$$... our G35c brothers get a G35 sedan to drive around.

Yeah, I'm green.

But that is why this is here right. As time passes, I can pass on the insightful knowledge that everyone here has given me.
That wasn't meant to sound sarcastic.

So where is the best place to take it based on my location?

Based on the service bulletins, I have warrenty issues, at 2600 miles.

Good to know about the rent-a-POS. Not going to walk out without something.

Got that number handy? (for Nissan consumer affairs) Would like to program into my cell for that moment.

Thanks Again

Green to be no more. Here to learn.

If you live in Glendale just drive a short way over to Performance Nissan in Duarte. It's the Buena Vista off ramp on the 210. I didn't get my car there but they have the best service and parts team team I've found. I won't go back to the dealership I bought my car at even though it's more convienent.

whatever you do DO NOT go to universal. I have had nothing but absolutely horrible service there. They are extremely busy, so it takes for ever to get anyone to speak with you or return your phone calls, and they are really ignorant about the car they are servicing. Do a forum search for a thread I started about them titiled "would you go back." All I can say is that I will never go back to Universal and highly recomend you never take your car there.

How stringent are they with the front license plate?
I see so many cars without them. I was told if you display the plate in your front window, you don't have to put it on.

Any word on that?

Thanks

I just talked with LA County Sheriff friend. If you have it in the front windshield you are begging for a ticket.

You might as well say I don't have a front plate.

It's better to run without the front plate and just put it in the trunk with the screws and a screwdriver. So if they issue it with you there just put it on and say please sign it off please thanks..

how i got my front ticket...

i was somewhere in OC pulling into a block buster with a friend to rent a video for the night...

cop was pulling out of the lot as i was turning in... turned around (motor bike) and pulled me over in the parking lot.. so i parked... he wouldnt let me get out of the car.. ahah...

he was like, is this vehicle yours, yes occifer, prove it where is your registrations / insurance etc etc... i pull out my nissan owners manual folder that has all my info in it and i go bamb... he then checked up on it all etc etc... then gave me a fixit ticket...

so had to get a zbraket... the z braket doesnt take away much look from the front of the z.. ill take a pic of it later..

A fix-it is $20, I think. Not too much more than that.

Don't go to Universal. I live in the Valley and I go to Torrance. Last time I went I saw a lot of Z's there - there's a wait, but it makes me feel better that they know what they're doing.

Actually, my fix-it ticket was free. No cost to fix it. I think I just paid a court administrative fee of $5 or so. Some police stations charge you from $10-30 for them to check your car for you. Make sure it's a police station in the same county you received the ticket. Then it is free.
