Default Anyone w/ Law Enforcement or a Lawyer?

Hi guys, so some of you know that my car was towed last weekend. While towing, they damaged the front left of my wheel. The damage doesn't seem like it was curbed because only the paint of my lip was gone, and it's pretty long (about 3/4 of the way). All I could do at that time was take pictures of my damaged rim, and wanted to take more pictures but they told me to "STEP OUT OF OUR PROPERTY NOW", and said I couldn't take pictures.

Anyways, after 3 hours of argument, I finally said "Fine I will pay right now and get my car out of here". This was after them saying that they didn't want to see me and told me to come back in the morning to pick up my car, but the rate was going to be different than if I had picked it up now. So at this moment when I said I'll pay now, they told me it's going to be $223. So I ask... "How much is it if I come back in the morning?" Then they said "I don't know ask my manager" (They told me the rate in the beginning before I found out my car was damaged).

Basically.. to sum it up..
1.) They DENIED the damage on my rim
2.) They forced me to pay right at that moment or else I'd have to go back in the morning, but refused to tell me the rate
3.) On the disclaimer of the invoice, it states that by accepting it, I am acknowledging that I am legally authorized to the posession of the vehicle and that NO DAMAGE was done to the vehicle, be it mechanical or body damage.

^ Point #3: How the hell could I have not sign the paper if they said "rate was going to be different", but never bothered to tell me exactly how much it was? I mean IT IS flat rate, not like the rate changes every 10 minutes.

... So basically I just got tricked huh? They deny everything, then tells me to sign a piece of paper saying they're not liable for any of the damage...

Anyone here can chime in? The problem is more complicated than what I said above and i'm afraid it's going to take too much space to type...

Since it's only the paint of the wheel that's damaged, it's probably a good idea to determine if it is worth it to pursue.

I know that's probably not the answer you're looking for, but it seems like it will be an even larger headache just to get them to pay for the paint damage. You could take it to court/lawyers, but you will have to fork out a ton just to get the verdict you're hoping for. Even then, you may not win.

Oh, and sorry to hear.

Find out the number to the towing company.

At random times when you find yourself near a payphone call them and tell them your car broke down, make sure to have a fake description and tag number ect...you may have to tell them are calling from a payphone and you will go back and wait at the car.

Have friends get involved too, so they can't focus in on one voice.... the best time would be shortly before they close for the day

Buy a cheap prepaid calling card.
Direct action may get someone arested and the joke is on you. Trust me, if they drive 30 miles round trip through rush hour traffic to find out there is no car to tow they will be pissed for the rest of the day.

With all the cameras now you don't want to risk damaging a shop physically

why did you get towed in the first place? How can you prove you didn't have the scatches before the tow?

Speak directly with the manager and tell him you're going to sue him if they don't pay for the damage to your vehicle; A towing company did $500 in damage to the door on my Honda Civic when it was being towed from Chinatown once, and basically that's what we did, and they paid it, under the condition that we paid the towing fees and such.

I agree with him... I know it sucks but it might not be worth the $$$ to go through all the trouble. I think it's not really that expensive to get one rim fixed right? or is the damage a lot worse than I'm imagining.

Those tow guys are ******. Sometimes when I see them driving around I just want to sock them in the face. lol. But don't do that though...

BTW, you got someone to get the air freshener for you? I'm rolling down to the sale on Sat at Performance to check it out. Let me know bro.

how much is the damage worth? probably not worth it. Go and demand they pay for it, if not, how about reporting to better business bureau?

Yo Mike! Someone did offer to help, but I had to pick it up in Downtown lol. Where do you live/work? Maybe you can buy it for me and I pick it up from you?

Lino, damage wasn't all that bad, just the paint of the lip is gone. I'm just pissed off about the fact that they lied and were dishonest, two things I HATE the most.

PS: Do you wanna come to my place to help me finish the installation of the gym set (will pay money, beer, food, you name it)? Everything is all done except for the cables. Still have about 1/2 way to go and the thing is confusing as hell!

I'l rolling there with 350z006 tomorrow morning. PM me your number... I'll hit you up today after work to confirm. I have to get in touch with 350Z006 first. Also, I'm going to try and get there as early as possible, but you know how crazy ppl on here get when there's a sale. I'll try my best to get you one ok?
