Default Anyone painted their Roof black in Socal?

I been searching around for 2 days and I can't find anyone who got their roof painted black. I recently took off my bat's overlay about a week ago and now I miss it so much. However I do not want to go vinyl route if I do get great pricing on paint job.

There were many Paintjob places in LA or near Gardena, Rosemead, but I did not find anywhere close to Irvine. I recently got my car fixed at M.O.B. Works and they quoted me 500 for roof paint I know painting the roof cost around 200-300.

Anyone know paintjob places that are reputable and do it for affordable price?

thanks

sam

Got mine done at Grand Prix AutoBody, but it's in LA.... figured, if you don't want to spend the $500, then pay the extra gallon of gas.

They did mine while they painted the entire car. Regardless, I called to ask, they stated it will be done in the $250/range, cash of course.

Just ask for Scott and tell them Tony with the Blue Z sent you.

matte black overlay? how long have you had it for?

I had roof overlay for about 6 months and omg.. I need to take care of that thing.. make sure not to scrub with towel or anything else. just wash and dry with soft micro-towels.

dont you see a lot of swirls and scratches?
cuz mine did. one thing I hate about roof overlays.

Every vinyl roof overlay I have seen looks terrible since it doesn't hold up to any abuse whatsoever. You will have to take meticulous care of it if you want it to look good for times to come.

As far as painting the roof, $200-300 seems low to me.

^^ i would think 200-300 sounds fair since I seem to here about shops in the area shooting front bumpers for 200-300. A roof seems easier since its completely flat. I've seen the roof overlays in person and I don't think its as bad as tech says it is. I guess it depends on the quality of vinyl and thickness. I know a guy who's had his for almost a year now and it looks the same as it did the first time i saw it, he's pretty average about taking care of his car.

$2-300 is ok for a bumper since it can be easily removed and painted off the car. A roof however will need to be meticulously masked off in order to make sure no overspray gets onto the rest of the car.

Well, that's what they charge. Have you called other shops, or is this an assumption that you have?

This is from years and years of personal experience with body shops, how they work and what they charge for certain items.
