This morning I go to start the car but it dies. Basically it starts then it dies, won't even respond to when I give it some throttle.. I have half a tank of gas and it drove fine on friday night. I did not drive it all weekend until this morning. Do I have a bad fuel pump? Thanks in advance for all the help.

Nothing added, all stock. I will get a scanning tool and see if the ecu is giving me any codes.
The car does not even start, it just bogs like it wants to start but doesn't. It almost does but it won't and then starts to smell like gas.

WOW.... STOP TRYING TO START THE CAR! hahahaa man you might blow urself up... you might have a fuel leak in the engine bay or something. smelling gas IS NOT NORMAL. the ecu MIGHT NOT even help you in this case (if the reason is fuel leak)... just cause there is NOT fuel on the floor under the car do NOT rule this option out. if the scanner cant rule it out then just tow it somewhere and once again DO NOT TRY AND START YOUR CAR AGAIN unless ... scratch that, no unless, lolz just dont try and start it again till its fixed.

Went ahead and bought the scanner tool. It gave me codes P1121 and P0113, I will search to see the cure for these.
No worries not starting the car anymore, I do not want to burn my 2nd wife and not its not the Z, lol.
P1121 Electronic Throttle Control Actuator
P0113 IAT Sensor
So it seems it has something to do with my throttle body. Do I need to clean it or a new one?
What about the IAT?

clean throttle body, check the connectors, and see if it gets a signal from it. May need a new throttle body. Best way to check is to take one off another Z and see if it works then.
best of luck.

lol you have no idea my friend. After my car was down for 5 months due to bad grounding and i was trying everything to fix it. I literally spent months on the forums and reading everything possible and trying everything.
It sucked at the time, but i did learn a lot so it does help and pay off now.

Well it could just be the sensor. Sorry I couldn't make it tonight. Something came up for school and I needed to go. But I can take the throttle body out, clean it and see was comes up. The fuel smell is prob just do to the motor being flooding by repeatedly trying to start it and it not burning just building.
any chance you changed keys ?
- i spent a day chasing an engine turning over / not starting issue and it turned out i unintentionally grabbed an old set of keys that had become unrecoginizable by the computer - started first time with the normal key - v. annoying!

I will clean up the throttle body first, if that does not work I will go ahead and purchase a new one. Hopefully that will fix the issue. I did not change keys, we only have one key, lol.
Myfirst06350Z, no worries, let me know what your schedule is like tomorrow. I will be home around 9pm, I have my last class tomorrow.
