Talking Canyon Run on 9/28/03!!

Hey my fellow SoCal Z drivers!

Since the last run that I missed (i.e., Angeles Crest Run), I haven't been to any Z-exclusive meets/ runs. That's b/c I was either out of the state or too busy for the longest time. So that I'm back in LA, I'd like to organize another canyon run.

How about a canyon run on 9/28/03 (Sunday)??? Anyone up for it? I'm thinking either the Angeles Crest (since I missed the last time) or Latigo Canyon.

Lemme know if interested!!

I'm tentatively in.

I like Angeles Crest, especially stopping off at Neukom's for grub. But, the rocks suck. Did you know the mother of the owner of Neukom's owns a redline Z? I think Latigo or Tuna Canyon or one of the other canyons might be a better bet for our bumpers and windshields but, I'll go wherever.

IRIS:
You actually prefer a wedding over a canyon run? J/K. Have fun!

Dan:
The location is not really set yet. Althought I haven'd done AC before, we can do latigo to be nice to our front bumpers.

BTW, I'm going to try to get my friend with M3 to come out. I hope he broke it in already.

AC blows Cracked wind shield and about 100 rock chips after the last run. Plus too many cops.

I vote for Las Flores Canyon.

I haven't done Las Flores Canyon. How's the skill level on that canyon?

Hey guys, how are things? Well, hmmm I'm definitely down for either one. However there are rocks everywhere on both cyns. I was there just this past weekend and at a certain point on Lat cyn. you will definitely run into some rocks. However, since it consists of tight turns, it won't much of a problem. There is also another cyn from Latigo, which is approximately 10 miles south called Decker. Since those 2 are close enough with each other I think that cyn can also be a good candidate. Just my .2 cents.

I think the skill level is pretty high there. The turns are very tight and mostly blind. A mistake could easily be fatale The rocks are not as bad as AC due to the lower speeds. Also allot less traffic and cops then AC.

Fatal is right! It's closer to houses and parked cars than Latigo is - ugh. Do it from PCH up and it'll be better.

So, you're getting your friends to change their wedding date, right?

Las Flores is as good as it gets.

On boring Sundays, I'll drive down Topanga to Malibu and take it back up to the Valley. It's the best run I've come across in So. Cal. so far. There are several 15 mph twisties that really are 15 mph zones. And, going up from PCH to the valley is much better than going down visa versa.

I forgot to mention that I will be working on the weekend right after. I would appreciate it if you can schedule the run on 10/12/03 or any weekend after that. Thanks.
