I have to hand it to the chief, he was actually right. Mindset has lots to do with it and he even said it, he likes modding cars/likes cars, but keep it on the track.

Damn shame about the woman and her baby though. Putting innocent people at risk FTL.

Ive been pulled over 4 times in the last year and half or so and all four times Ive been asked about modifications etc. And I wasn't speeding/driving like a moron... All 4 times ive been let off.

I hear you man! every thing in San Diego seams like it was designed to test out the articulation of your car's chassis. i go to Mira mar community college and there is a speed bump in the main parking lot that is at least 6 inches high its like the people who design that crap are from Sante.

but its bad in the back country me and my dad went out back side of Bonita, canyon bombing and my car bottomed out 3 times on what we call in San Diego flat roads.. lol

but LA Freeways are far worse, the 57 71 and the 210 are death traps driving up to Azusa Pacific is like running a Freaking Gantlet!

but the Cops are so bad here, Chula Vista isn't the worst, its Poway and East Lake, They have those stupid Sheriffs... I have been pulled over 5 times in the last there months, its time to get a radar detector and a good lawyer...

^^^ Yep....worst time: 10:00 pm to 11:00 pm

Cops who hate modified cars the most here in SD (From what I've noticed) ?

Poway cops
Escondido
College campuses
Motorcycle cops
Irvine cops...ah not SD but I swear they'll come down here to get you.

I agree with you on the Poway Sheriff. I live and work in Poway and don't dare to mess around even though my G looks fairly stock.

They are cracking down on the 240sx for sure. Popping hoods looking for swaps and turbos. A guy got rolled for "not having his headlights on" at 5pm last week, sun doesn't even go down til 7 now. Lame. I've been rolling a hks hi-power on mine with a silencer. I think I'll put the stock exhaust back on. It'll just be a pain to change out for track events.

I think i'll start driving my G more.

Yea, poway sucks. They hassle my sister in-law in her stock Murano. Add Mira Mesa to the list too.

Saw a highway patrol Dodge Charger on 805 the other day and a lot more people pulled over lately.

The other day I saw a custom orange M5 (newer one) running what sounded like straight pipes. It was a like a squadron of fighter jets coming down the street. I don't know how guys like that get away with it.

I've noticed the factory performance car/ sportscars with mods have a better chance on the streets of San diego than your typical commuter modded-turned "fast car".(Cops are more likely to score more citations so they target them.)

I remember when EVO's and STI's were getting pulled over left and right because traffic LEO's thought they were heavily modified econo-sedans...but I think they caught on to the fact that these things come performance oriented.

I saw that M5 yesterday on Mira Mesa blvd. Not a subtle car at all. He passed 3 SDPD tending to an accident at the Westview intersection. I had to laugh.

I heard a titanium exhaust M5 in a tunnel a while back. Badass, super mean.

Yeah that's him. First time I saw him, he was flying down Black Mtn. towards Mira Mesa. He's probably from PQ or Del Sur/ Santa Luz area.

They're looking for any excuse to give you a ticket. Do you have to go the state ref to test it or can you just throw on the stock exhaust and get it signed off at the station?

A little update..my friend got pulled over in eastlake a few days ago....he drives a WRX...doesn't look flashy....just dropped and an exhaust. The cop asked him to pop his hood and ref'd him for his BOV. He also said the cop was looking at his front grill to see if he had an intercooler.
