Question on Driving classes? Need HELP
Hey , i am a San Diego LOCAL
and im new to this forum and new to my 350z. I was wondering if anyone knows of a place were they teach drifting classes and do like AutoX's around San Diego and knows how much it would cost $ $ $ and when, where it would be?
If someone can hook me up, give me some info that'd be absolutely GREAT!
Thanks.
Just trying to become a good driver, anyone can drag a car but its hard to go fast sideways

Not sure if they are still doing it but the http://www.sdbmwcca.com/index.html usually has a couple spots open for non-BMWs and they have some really really really cool guys as instructors.
My neighbor is one of them, Tim Yost, great guy and an amazing driver!

I would recommend you do either drifting or autocrossing as a sport. Going fast and going sideways are generally mutually exclusive. You can even get kicked out of an autocross for drifting. It's not the fastest way around a corner unless you're on dirt, and it's unsafe and is not really "kosher" at an autocross event.
You can do both, but just make sure you keep them separate.
Here is a link to the San Diego SCCA website. First result on a google search for "san diego scca" .

At your first autocross event, just ask one of the guys there to ride with you or ride with other people. They generally make the novices introduce themselves at the larger chapters or events so that everyone can help them out. Just remember that 99% of the people there are going to have way more experience than you, so respect them and listen to everything they say. Good luck bud. Autocrossing is an awesome sport, I hope you enjoy it.

As a "drag" guy who set up my car to be good at everything I have to admire the fact that you want to improve the best mod-your driving. At the same time I laugh in the face of people who believe that driving down the 1320 involves no skill....or a run fro ma roll for that matter. Not a good mentality to have.
