I guess that times are tough. I found the following:
" Nissan and its luxury-car division Infiniti are not represented because of the costs involved, and neither are upscale Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati."

YEAH, Nissan and Infiniti were not at sema or well represented there either this year...
I think NISSAN USA's marketing manager needs to be fired, it's a joke... especially their Infiniti marketing

I when I worked at Nissan I was the one in charge of auto shows. I ordered vehicles, setup the booth, made sure that they were de-contented (shift *****, floor mats, cargo nets all removed), and even coordinated the transportation to and from the show for all vehicles.
To be in the display is very, very expensive and since the New York show is now designated a "Global" show there is less justification for the smaller shows like Inland Empire, Anaheim, San Diego and even some larger ones like SEMA & Los Angeles.
It's just a product of the economy.
BTW, remember the 2005 Anaheim Auto Show?
I ordered this setup for the main display: Grand Touring Interlagos Fire, one of the first in the USDM.

I think you know who's car this was:
wow, that's an old school pic haha.
I was just saying that lately brand marketing has really dropped off tremendously for both nissan and infiniti.
I can totally understand not doing sema, it's way too expensive for not much return, since it's pretty much only targeting aftermarket segments, but for one of the largest auto shows, in one of the most important regions of your customer base, that's a real surprise.

I went and it was definately weak. Highlights were Porche Boxster Spider & GT3 RS, Lexus LF-A and Mercedes SLS. It was a good excuse to go downtown to eat though.
