F@#$ I just came back from getting the car smogged and sure enough I failed. I didn't know that you wouldn't pass smog if you didn't have the stock cats. I was reading around and pretty much what I saw was that HFC's will no longer pass smog. When did this happen? All I have is Jim Wolf intake, Tanabe Hyper Medallion Exhaust, Tanabe Y-Pipe, and BERK HFC's. I don't feel like crawling underneath and taking them off and putting them back on... anyone know a place please PM me. I'll make it worth ur while lol.

Damn I've been out of it for sometime now. Since Jan of last year... almost embarassed that I even asked. Well thanks for the info. I got my HFC's before 09 and at that time BERK said it would pass. I'd get the Kinetix is I knew they would but my BERK's are still holding up pretty well. This blows CA =

Welcome to the hippy state of CA. They made all Hi Flo cats illegal to be sold in CA as of 1/1/09. Magnaflow won't even ship their hfc here to Cali. Did you heat up the HFC good before you got the test done?

I have hfc, jwt air filter, and exhaust. I just smogged last month and at first I failed because the ****** was unnecessarily revvin up my car. I drove over to a different place that was a little more expensive but the guy knows what he is doing and passed me. I barely made it though. The reading said I was one number away from failing. For example max is 36. I passed with 35.
All in all I think it mainly depends on the person who drives your car during the test. If its some idiot who likes to rev up your car you'll fail. If its some guy who respects your car and barely steps on the gas, you'll pass.
