Default Audio Pat and SD guys, are you ok?

Sorry, this is the 3rd fire thread, but I just wanted to make sure you guys are okay.

I think you guys are the closest ones to the fire, esp'lly Audio Pat in Simi Valley.

I hope everything is ok and you and all your loved ones are safe.

ya.. there's a lot of wildfires popping up this past weekend. My friend in sd, one of the complexes at her place burned down so she had to evacuate. Pretty crazy

Things are OK here in Oceanside. We could see the Camp Pendleton fire clearly from our backyard yesterday. Some of my friends in Tierra Santa were evacuated, all they know right now is their answering machine works so they assume their house is OK.

Aloha (Justin) got evacuated from Tierra Santa yesterday. ImportRiders (Lyndon) I haven't heard from so I hope he's ok.

Myself... I just got an upper floor covered in ash and smoke. I was out all weekend climbing Whitney then I got home and found my house was smelling like smoke and there was ash everywhere. I had left the windows open for my cats... and air...

I go away for a weekend and all hell breaks loose in SD.

Fran, I hope everything turns out to be ok with you and that the firefighters get things under control.

I hope Justin and Lyndon are ok. I'm not religious but in this case I'll pray for them.

Thanks Iris. Much appreciated. I'll let Justin and Lyndon know u were asking about them.

My home should be ok... Justin's place is closest to the fires. I'll let you know more details. I think he's gonna try and go back tonight to recover more stuff in case the fire creeps in... but I doubt he'll make it far since we have freeways shutdowns all over south-east corridors.

while I am unsure what assistance we can offer, please let us know if you believe we can be of help in anyway.

our old house was burned to the ground a long time ago... and while we were glad that no one was hurt, it's hard to believe so much can be lost so quickly.

Hi Kids!!

Well, it's been really hard to breathe the past few days here with all the smoke and ash but our home hasn't been threatened so I'll put up with a little inconvenience. It has been so much worse for so many families
We can finally see the stars tonight so that is a good sign for our neck of the woods. The fires are mostly in the North East Valley right now and we are in the South West mountains.
Hope our brothers and sisters in SD are AOK.

Thanks Iris and Masta for the kind words

Yea, I had a close friend who lived in Scripps Ranch. His house was one street away from a road where every house was decimated. Very fortunate for my friend, not so for many people in Scripps Ranch.

It was the oddest thing to wake up in the morning as the entire sky was orange. I thought I ate bad sushi.

I work at OVMC ( Olive View Medical Center )

Looking west today at the ridge that has a huge amount of smoke rising. I hoped you and your's were well.

The clear view of the stars is a good sign, as the wind must be coming from the sea..

Cheers Amy -

At least if you have to bug out, you have the best car to do it in.

Thanks for the support guys. Luckily, Mira Mesa has been untouched - I hope it stays that way.

The best way to offer assistance is the donate to Red Cross and indicate exactly where you want that money to go.

Lots of smoke and ash still here in Pacific Beach. This is the most unbelievable thing I have experienced in San Diego in my 15+ years living here.

I had a few friends that were forced to evacuate their homes so they came down and stayed with me. Their homes are ok, good news for them but not so for the 900+ other people here

Its just tough to breath here....

best wishes and prayers go out to all.

Audio Pat and the SD guys and gals,

Glad to hear all of you are OK. I'm just south of Porter Ranch and my place and cars smell like inside of a smoker

I saw the like of fire in Chatworth from my office window yesterday and I was sure it was going to move eastward. Luckily the fire crews had it under control before it really got into the highly populated areas. You have to give the fire fighters a lot of credit for what they do. My hats off to them.

Take care and be safe.

I'm glad to hear that, at least for those people who have checked in, they are still doing ok. Hopefully the winds will die down and the firefighters will be able to get things under control.

I will continue to hope that everybody is doing ok.

Hey All,

Thanks for your concern (Iris). I woke up Sunday around 9am and had yellow/orange rays of sun entering into my room. I thought I was wearing glasses with yellow lenses.

Turned on the TV and realized what was going on...then, looked outside and saw flames. Uh oh....so, i grabbed my computer, a t shirt/random clothing and then had to make a quick 'no-brainer' decision...The Z or the new Frontier? Hmmm...I could load the CBR into the truck and save both, but then would sacrifice my baby. I Jumped into the Z and left the area...

I came back Monday night and found that 6-7 houses across the street were burned to the ground...very sad. Luckily, my place was fine. There was 1/4" of ash on the truck and surrounding horizontal surfaces. That will be fun to clean up.

I'll attach a few pics of my neighborhood.

I was flying home from the bay area on sunday and got diverted to Las Vegas. Couldn't get home until last night. The fire got to within about 1 mile of my in-laws house in Escondido, and about 2 miles from my parents house in San Carlos. I'm sort of between both fires, so all is well. Just lots of smoke and ash.

Hope everyone is doing well.
