Holy poop dude! That's crazy. Glad you guys are all ok. Man, I can't imagine waking up to that. I didn't know the fires were atually burning through the neighborhoods. I assumed it was burning houses in the hills and stuff. Crazy. I can smell the smoke sometimes, and it's raining ash a little on the coast, but no fires anywhere nearby, thank god.

Hey All,

Thanks for your concern (Iris). I woke up Sunday around 9am and had yellow/orange rays of sun entering into my room. I thought I was wearing glasses with yellow lenses.

Turned on the TV and realized what was going on...then, looked outside and saw flames. Uh oh....so, i grabbed my computer, a t shirt/random clothing and then had to make a quick 'no-brainer' decision...The Z or the new Frontier? Hmmm...I could load the CBR into the truck and save both, but then would sacrifice my baby. I Jumped into the Z and left the area...

I came back Monday night and found that 6-7 houses across the street were burned to the ground...very sad. Luckily, my place was fine. There was 1/4" of ash on the truck and surrounding horizontal surfaces. That will be fun to clean up.

I'll attach a few pics of my neighborhood.

I'm in Mira Mesa, just a few miles away from Scripps Ranch where 300 homes burned down . Bought my DB on the 18th of October, haven't driven it since the fires. It's safe in the garage .
