Default Smells after AC turning off, need help

When I shut off the A/C but leave the fan motor on, I notice a pretty strong smell from the vents. It happened in my car for 2 years, but I decide to fix it for the coming summer. What part is going wrong in my car make this smell? It only happens after I turn A/C off, and it will last for a while.
Any advice appreciate.

any and all a/c's stink after turning them off. Maybe place an air freshener on one of your vents.

yup... it smells like total shiet. i hate the fukking ac systems in without filters.

just don't turn off your ac until you are about to turn the car off... and blast it once you get back in.

i think there is something that my friend mentioned to me that you can get to pump into the ac lines or something to get rid of the mildew. i think you can get them at your local auto parts stores. i never tried or even bothered looking for it. if you go this route op, let us know how it worked out.

The official fix according to nissan (as per the TSB) is to spray an anti microbial, anti fungal, anti mildew into the inlet and recirculate for 10 minutes. As someone said previously, lysol will work good. To prevent it, run the heat full blast for 2 or 3 minutes after you come back from a drive.
