Default If anyone ever gets in an Accident in SoCal get an attorney asap

I had a Z a while ago and recently bought one in Feb... Paid 22,000 for it. Sadly in Mid March it got totaled I know sucked. I found a good accident attorney which obviously I didn't pay nothing for they just take out of the settlement. My insurance company only offered to give me 18K for the car. After attorneys went it insurance company ended up giving me 27K for my car. Just FYI it was a Great choice. They told me though right away if you get an accident before you call insurance company call the Attorney so they can guide you through it. Any type of accident because there good be significant medical/ property damage as well.

How does calling an attorney and fighting your insurance company affect your future insurance? Did they drop you? Is it harder to get insured by anyone else? Do your rates go up drastically?

Just curious

I'm curious as well. I definitely would not want to go after my own insurance company via lawyer. Now if the accident was not my fault and the other party's insurance company was accepting liability, ya I'd consider going after them.

Insurances make all this money off you as soon as you get in an accident they nickel and dime you. Attorneys work on contingency which works out. If you are not at fault and the other insurance is liable they would nickel and dime you even more. Attorney goes in and takes them usually for 3 times the amount of money the offer you. + other damages. If you are at fault and the insurance company lowballs you.. then you sue your own insurance company.. it is illegal for them to report it to other insurance companies. In my accident my insurance went up $13 a month if I kept my same car I switched to a porsche cayman S and found out that geico/ mecury and progressive were all significantly cheaper then liberty mutual so I switched to them. Attorneys are the way to go I have these insurance companies making money off us.

depends on the insurance. I have AAA and they've been nothing but good to me. they gave me phat check for my totaled truck without the help from my dumbass attorney. he jipped my chriro and gave me squat. find the wrong attorney and things go sour real quick.
