MSRP
Went to the car show in anaheim this weekend and it still looked like the 350 was one of the hottest cars there. They always had a crowd around them, more than any other cars. I think with the solf top coming out it just gives the dealers another chance to add on a couple of more dollars to the Z. Here in torrance the dealer cant keep them on the lot for more than a couple of days and there not going for msrp....

No, the dealership in Torrance (Power Nissan) does not mark up their 350Zs. In fact, I don't think any dealership in SoCal marks up their Z coupes anymore (don't know about the roadsters). If you haggle enough, you may be able to get a little bit off MSRP, but not much.
Pretty much every dealership in Southern California has difficulty keeping Zs in stock. The usual routine is that the cars sell within a week or two after coming off the truck, if that long.

fact is they do mark up their cars, just 2 weeks ago they had a ss at $2000 over msrp, they took stock 17,s wheels and had them polished at a cost of 75 ea. and added 2000 to the msrp for custom wheels, thats called a markup

Browsed through the new cars while getting service at Stevens Creek Nissan in Santa Clara, CA (Bay Area). They had a Track on the lot. The sticker clearly showed a $5K "Additional Dealer Markup."
Don't know if they are getting that much, but that's where they start the negotiations.

i paid 1k below msrp in west l.a.
most dealers will tell you there is a markup, to see if you're stupid enough to believe them. if a dealer only sells them with stupid dealer extras that you don't want (polished wheels, tint, etc), don't buy there. there are plenty of nissan dealers in l.a.
msrp is easy to get. you can definitely get below that if you're looking at one of the more common models/colors.

I got mine in April at sticker from Carson Nissan. I haggled a lot on the interest rate. You can defintely haggle them on that if they dont bugde on the price. I ended up getting a 4.45% over 60 months but i paid sticker for my performance model

For a good deal....
Call Performance Nissan, 626-305-3000 and ask for Jennifer Loy. Tell her Rich from Suite E grafX sent you. She is willing to make good deals and handles everything smoohtly. She won't play games, she wants to move metal.

The answer to your question is "yes", most people have paid MSRP in Cali though there are exceptions both directions.
If your going for a Base model I think there is less chance of getting below MSRP because there "ain't" many & profit margin is thinner than other models.
If you find what you want at MSRP, I'd grab it.
