Default Machine shop for resurfacing rotors

Does anyone know a good machine shop in SGV (preferably) or somewhere in Socal that can resurface slotted rotors? What do you guys do about turning slotted rotors anyway, just buy new ones?

Thanks!

I've heard that you can't turn slotted rotors. I've also heard that when the run out on rotors becomes extreme, it's not because they are warped. Instead, it's because of uneven pad deposits. Supposedly, you just need to spend some time sanding off the pad deposits.

Thanks. I've heard that you can't turn them, either, but you can have them resurfaced by a machine shop, hence my question. I've heard about the sanding, too. Maybe I'll try that.

^+1...I've resurfaced both slotted, drilled and slotted/drilled rotors in my last 3 cars. Any place that does it with a lathe will be able to adjust the bit pressure to address the indentations of the rotors. They come out good as new. Never had a problem with the above RUMORS!

you should be able to go to any repair shop that turns rotors in your area all they have to have is a brake lathe. i always like the old amco lathe but hunter or what ever is as good.

I have a friend who owns an auto repair shop with a full machine shop. You can call Tom at Bender's Automotive in Covina on San Bernardino Road.

(626) 332-3022

You can at least call him and get a quote...

Ended up with these bad boys!
