The los angeles police department is more corrupt than a mob boss.

And then what? You get sucker punched or someone pulls a gun on you first...what do you do? Please explain. I was considering getting my CWP but then couldn't imagine more than one or two real-world situations where it would improve the outcome.

First off know your local gun laws!

Secondly be cool and don't leave yourself open to attack. All the varibles for this transaction could of been controlled. Location/time/price all of them could of been controlled to favor the buyer's safety.

If I was the one beig sucker punch. I would first find exit or safety. Isn't a ***** move, two sucker punches could be a KO for most. Once at or near exit/safety. I would pull/show my weapon and repeat that they back up/leave me alone. Again each situation is different. Whether your life is in danger is your personal instinct.

Hopefully one of the officers of my350z can chime in on the liabilities of this.

As to using the gun, he obviously got away so at that point could use the firearm to detain the person until the police came.

People are correct in the fact that a hand to hand situation a weapon won't help. In MP training we have exercises for drawing weapons on different situations. With our standard 9mm a person could attack from 10feet away before an experienced MP could draw a 9mm.

I still want to know how this ankle was broken. If you were sitting in your car (first mistake to be sitting in a car with someone who is now angry standing outside of it) did he wait for you to try to step out of the car after he punched you then kick your door on your leg? that's a classic move and works really well!

Self defense is a touchy subject in court. Be very careful folks.

Sucks to hear this man. I'm a transplant from Nor Cal and grew up around all sorts of people. Some of my closest boys were pushers, gangsters and just plain thugs. If this happened to me, consequences would probably involve a lot of blood. I would go back and finish business.

But if you guys didnt hear yet, some kid did get killed via Craigslist / Buying from online type deal here. The best bet would just let the authorities handle it. And if you got web savvy friends, you could do a whole lot of hurt online that can translate to real world (not being physical of course). I can't believe I just said all this...I was reading this I got so heated. Damn I grew up!
