Default O2 catalytic converter Help

Hello fellow 350z members,

I ran over something the other day and got my O2 sensor got rip off from my test pipe and now my check engine light go on. I'm thinking about buying one from Slidegood but the only thing i see is the 08 model. Can i use the 08 catalytic converter O2 sensor on my 03 base model Z?

I also saw there are front O2 sensor that are for sale at slidegood that are older than 08 model. Can i use those to install on my test pipe?

-Thanks ahead for the help

Sucks man. I don't think you can use 02 sensors from 07+ up.

Correct me if I am wrong someone, but I figure this because they sell 03 - 06 specific 02 Sensors online.

03 - 06 sensors I've seen for like 50 bucks or so.

The later O2 sensors are wideband. The ones on your 03 are narrowband. I'm not sure if the wideband sensors will work. They may. How did the sensor get ripped out without damaging the test pipe bung and/or the wiring harness? It sounds to me like you're gonna need more than a sensor...

I ran over what look like a log, got caught under the car, I heard a few clunk noise then keep running. After 10mins or so my check engine light go on, I jack up the car, look around, and saw the driver side O2 wiring ripped off from the clip part.

My other question is...is the front O2 sensor the same as the catalytic converter O2 sensor? or are they totally 2 different stuff. The one that got ripped off the clip was the one installed on my test pipe.

i was at the dealership and the part # is totally diff so i doubt it'll work.

you dont have to buy OEM, OEM are like $130. You can just buy Bosch, but i'm not sure of the quality, but it's a lot cheaper...

Or honestly if you can live with the CEL... Not like it's really damaging to your car, just a little annoying

I think I found a good deal on Slidegood website. I bought the 03 rear LH O2 sernsor. I hope it works, I look at the picture and it looks the same as mine. total cost me $62 so it's not too bad.

Maybe it was just me but my nismo exhaust sound a little raspier than it used to be before the incident, that's why i decided to get replacement.

Bosch or NGK produce good o2 sensors. Again like others said, you cannot use a 07+ o2 sensor on your 03' not only are they wideband but the wiring is completely different & the plugs are different.

Keep us updated on whether it eliminates the rasp, although i doubt it will unless it's some magical sensor haha
